"Good belay biner" 05/07/13
This is a good biner to use for your belay device, especially if you have one that can be used in guide mode. The fat round profile makes it really smooth to feed the rope, and it will last longer than fancy light biners that will start to groove and wear sooner. They are big enough to hold several cloves well.On the other hand, you don't need many of these. For uses other than a belay biner or an anchor where you want to hold a bunch of cloves, I would get smaller and ligher lockers.
"My first and well be my last" 09/20/12
I've had this Carabiner for about two years now. I use this to hold my keys daily than switch to climbing mode thrice a week so its been abused and tested. It's still in great condition and the screw lock still works. It's great for beginning climbers but it lasts well into the more advanced stages of climbing. I highly recommend this product to everyone I speak to and the price is great for the poor man (I am a poor woman though).
"Keeps Me Safe" 11/22/11
I'm not sure what to say other than this carabiner gets the job done. This is a good size carabiner that can be used for a variety of things. It can be used as a belay carabiner or for a carabiner to hook yourself into an anchor once you reach the top of your climb. Extremely versatile.
"Workhorse" 06/03/11
This is definitely a biner that excels as an all rounder. Good size and shape for belaying while still being significantly lighter and more compact than belay-specific biners such as the rocklock. I've used and abused mine for close to a year and the only visible wear is with the anodised colour layer on rope bearing surfaces. The screw-lock is smooth and does not lock up too tight after a big fall. Caught my friend after he skipped a bolt and then missed his next clip, massive whipper and once I lowered him off it was as easy as ever to un do. Black Diamond makes quality stuff, and this biner doesn't dissapoint.
