If you don't have much to carry, the Impact Pad by Black Diamond offers a lot of value with two and a half inches (64 mm) of cushy open-cell foam and one inch (25 mm) of force-dissipating closed-cell foam. Using a taco design, the Impact Pad is a snap to fold up and carry with its minimalist design, stainless steel buckles, removable, padded shoulder straps and hip belt.

"great deal!" 01/19/11
This crash pad not too soft but not too hard. Kinda like that deal with goldilocks but thats irrelevant. Anyway its great for some taller problems but probably not for highballers. The shoulder straps provide good support for carrying. The material is high quality and I expect it to last a long time.
"Really good economical pad" 12/13/10
This pad has everything you need and nothing you don't. The shoulder straps are minimal but are padded enough so they are comfortable when you have stuff folded in your pad. I can get my chalk bag, nalgene, and two pairs of shoes folded up in the pad and not have to worry about stuff falling out. it doesn't have the nifty diagonal hinge that the comparable metolius pad does but i haven't had a problem with it and i've used it on some pretty uneven ground. bottom line is unless you're sending high balls or you need to have the best even if its over kill then this is a perfect pad. It doesn't break the bank and it'll keep you from breaking bones.
