"best all around headlamp ever" 		          06/03/09
spotlight is better than most flashlights. extremely durable, i use it at least 3 or 4 times a week turning it of and on for a couple hours at a time. just changed the batteries for the first time in 6 months (the batter indicator light is great). dropped it off buildings, thrown tools on it, gets wet and greasy. top strap helps it stay in place. i've bought two and getting ready to add another. one for the work truck, one for the play truck and one for the bedroom. dont let the battery pack scare you. if your neck cant support three AAA batteries then you shouldn't be doing stuff in the dark anyway.

First off, I LOVE black diamond. 100% bias. I have had this headlamp in the past and it has been through A LOT, lemme tell ya (i.e. caving, hiking, finding stuff in the abyss I have in the back of my 4runner. But overall, best headlamp ever. Very comfortable on the head and durable as sh*t.

Love this lamp and its many settings. It is great for all kinds of settings. Only problem with it is that I have to readjust it almost every time I use it and the batter pack could have a little better design. other than that it is great.

This headlamp has saved me on multiple trips. On several occasions I have been hiking well after dark through thick woods. The icon lights up the trial like an artificial sun. It is light weight and an essential piece of equipment. well done black diamond.

"Bright! Absolutely perfect design." 		          04/09/09
I love this thing. It is the brightest headlamp that I have ever owned, especially when using the spotlight mode. I did some early alpine ascents with my friends and I had to pick up my own. The only thing that I don't like about the design is the rather large battery pack, other than that, it is great.

"One of the best headlamps i have purchased" 		          04/01/09
This is one of the best lights i have purchased in a long time! I use it for those long night Kayak paddles, used it hiking in the mountains in colorado, I keep it in my truck for emergencys like a flat tire which i got a couple of weeks ago in the middle of the night. I had a cop stop to help who even commented on the light saying wow you dont need my headlight to see anything do you. if you put it in the mode with the main spot light on it will light up the ground in front of you like it is daylight. all in all this is a badass light which i recommend to anybody!!!!!! get it you will love it!!!!

"Comfortable and Bright for Such a Small LED Light………." 		          03/27/09
My latest excursion started with a night hike that began around 3:00 AM. I already had a small head lamp, but I needed something with a little more power since the moon had scheduled a night off. When it arrived in the mail I thought, seriously? This thing is massive, and with three AA’s in it, no way…… But once I strapped it on I was sold. Super comfortable, and the weight was not noticeable at all. My old rinky-dink Petzl gave me a headache after 3 minutes, but this thing I could/did wear for hours without any discomfort at all. Long lasting battery and amazing light output with many options only a half click away.

if you don't mind looking like a MAJOR geek---this is the light for you! illuminates wide path with bright light for hands free night hiking. any onlookers probably thought i was some kind of alien, but, hey, worked incredibly well for me.

This thing is so nice! It's super easy to change settings (hi, mid, dim) or just change what type (long range or wide area). It's crazy how powerful this thing is, expecially with new batteries. Never be afraid of the dark again!
