"This is a great lightweight tent for one person, highly recommended!" 07/01/11
My back country ski partner and I chose to replace our 7 pound 2 oz, 49 square foot tent with two of these. We lost 1 pound 10 oz and picked up 5 square feet of space in the deal! The HiLite’s performed fantastically on the Sierra High Route this spring, standing up to gusting winds and snow fall. Setting up with the interior pole system is a little awkward until you get your system worked out. For those of you that are 6 feet or taller, I think this tent will be too short for comfortable use. There was notably less condensation with the HiLight’s compared to our other tent, and having your own private space was kind of nice.
"Versatility feels good" 04/11/11
It's expensive, no doubt about it. But if you want something you can use in almost any condition, this is your tent. Single wall sounds scary and wet, but in practice I've used double walls with more condensation problems. It's design is genius, it's unbelievably light, works well in blizzards and summer storms, can be breezy or insulate, it's a dream tent. I miss seeing stars a bit, but if it's not raining you can stick your head out the door. In terms of the 1-2 person thing... If you're comfortable with your sexuality, you can get cozy without feeling totally cramped. Love.
