"Compact, good backup headlamp." 		          05/20/09
It's a good backup headlamp. I'm not that satisfied with its plastic built quality in comparison to my Petzl Tikka Headlamp, but it is better in terms of functionality. It has 3 lighting settings. Works great for me here in the Philippines where it's always raining and humid. The waterproof function will be helpful, but I haven't use it yet.

It's a pretty basic headlamp that does a fine job of shining light and freeing up your hands. Headlamps in general are fantastic for camping & even cycling. This one has full bright, half bright and blink settings. I'm not sure what blink is for, but we had an awesome rave at the Great National Sand Dunes in Colorado with it. The strap is comfy and plenty adjustable; it even fits around my buddy's Pluto-sized melon. The lamp can tilt down, but can be the notches are little sloppy but still get the job done. There's no red LED like on some others. Batteries didn't quite last the stated life/hour-expectancy, but I'm sure it was on in my bag.

"Awesome Head Lamp" 		          05/04/09
So I used to have another head lamp with a bulky AA battery compartment on the back. Also, it was so bright that my friends would be blinded by its bright light. Also, it didn't last very long. This headlamp is fantastic. It is comfortable, easy to use, and very bright. For twenty bucks this is a steal!

This head lamp will hold up in a beating and will last a long time. It has three settings which all come in handy and it is not ridiculously priced like many headlamps on the market. It always gets the job done.

"Won't let you down" 		          03/09/09
The gizmo isn't a spotlight, but that's never been a problem for me. The batteries last forever and the three LED's are bright enough for anything around camp or a short jaunt through the woods at night. It's highly water resistant so there's no need to worry about rain, and nice and lightweight for anyone who doesn't want to carry around a maglite. Get one. It's only $20, and you spent more than that on gas last week.

Great simple product. Fastens tight, great for laid back activities. Good light beam strength for hiking, running, walking, etc. Also makes a nice gift.

While it's not the most high powered lamp out there, ounce-for-ounce this lamp is fantastic. It's super light and it has a good amount of brightness. It would be ideal for a back-up lamp, or the primary lamp for the light alpine crowd.

I got this free from Moosejaw for buying $X of product from Black Diamond. I love all the black diamond equipment I own (poles, climbing gear, & now this). I have never owned a head lamp before so I am not good for comparing. This one has three light settings, high, low and flash. It is light, takes 2 triple A batteries and can be clipped onto your chest strap on you back pack, which is pretty cool. It is bright, and the instructions say it should last for 30K hours on one set of batteries.
