Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple, easy and effective. Though they seem to be marketed for winter/ice use, I used my frontpoint gaiters almost exclusively for backpacking in New Zealand (gaiters are standard issue amongst trampers there due to tremendously wet/muddy trails). After 60 days on trail and repeated journeys through thigh-deep mud and river crossings, I was thoroughly impressed. These are simple, functional and effective gaiters. My only complaint is that i suffered one torn strap due to repeatedly walking on sharp rocks and roots (this was an easy repair with a little bit of parachute cord).

I'm a thin guy (6', 155 pds), but found that the large still worked for me, though an extra-large would have been too big. (I used t

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good at what they do these giaters definitely get the job done. They fit over my trango extreme's perfectly and stay up without any trouble. I have scarpa t1's and they aren't even close to fitting over those so if you plan on using them for skiing think again. they get pretty warm if you're in mild weather with them considering that they are goretex so if you are looking for a little extra warmth and aren't too worried about decreasing the breathability of whatever pants you wear them over then you're in luck. over all they work great and the strap that goes under the arch of the foot is very durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gaiters that keep you dry and look cool These gaiters are definitely my favorite piece of gear I own. Without them I would have suffered some terrible wet circumstances. I would make sure you know what size to get because at first I didn't. I use these gaiters with my La Sportiva Trango S EVO boots which are size 45. I use XL gaiters and they cover the boots well and provide a long length that go high up my leg. Although I have ripped mine after use, they still work to keep me dry. Black diamond seems to make great products all around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to clean, does the job! These are a great pair of gaiters. My only complaint is for the bigger footed people it can be a pain to use these. Mine work just barely, but they work, that is the key. They have kept mud/snow from getting on the pants or down the boots, and that is what they are made for! Super easy to clean after they have seen mud. I recommend any Black Diamond truthfully, I have yet to have any problems with their gear. Maybe I am lucky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to put on, very rugged, and waterproof. It's difficult to differntiate between many gaiters since they all usually serve the purpose. These were my second pair, much more rugged than the nylon gaiters I used previously. The balistic material and Gore-Tex will take a lot of abuse from thorns, rocks, and anything else the trail might throw at me while treking in the snow. These are very easy to put on, and they've met or exceeded my expectations while keeping me dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gaiter; Won't fit gigantic feet These things are pretty awesome. I haven't had any problems with them . They even take the abuse of slashing them with sharp crampons. The only negative thing that I would say is that the XL won't fit big boots. I have a size 46.5 boot and they fit great over the La Sportiva Nepal Evo's but don't quite make it over my La Sportiva Spantiniks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works. Well. Sizes small. Really pretty indestructable and quite waterproof. The drawstring at the top will cut off your circulation a bit if you cinch it tight. Get a size bigger than you think. I wear a size 10 shoe and bought a large and it was super hard getting the thing to fit over a plastic boot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good protection from ankle biting dogs Good protection for my pants and extra warmth for my ankles, but I prefer my gaiters to cover the majority of the laces on my boots for added warmth while breaking trail and protection from crampon snags, and the BD's just don't cut it.
