The Black Diamond Eldorado Tent shares the same design as the I-Tent by Black Diamond, but is 13 cm (5 in) longer and 8 cm (3 in) wider to accommodate taller climbers. This Black Diamond tent features two internal aluminum poles for quick and simple setup, and two zippered vents at the peak and a hooded vent over the single door allow you to create an ideal level of ventilation. Weighing just under five pounds, this Black Diamond shelter is easily packed and carried alongside the rest of your climbing gear, and offers a total area of 30 square feet for camping after a long day of adventuring. The Eldorado is kind of like buying the versatile Black Diamond I-Tent at a big and tall store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tent, just learn to ventilate it well Overall, this is a great tent. It’s light, strong, and simple to setup. One caveat: the tent walls collect a lot of condensation at temperatures far below zero.,,,,The waterproof ToddTex material supposedly breaths like the popular Gore-Tex material. Unfortunately, during my last winter trip where temps fell to -20 degrees F, the material failed to live up to its reputation. The tent’s inside walls collected water vapor from our breath, and this fell like snowflakes onto our sleeping bags. Wet sleeping bags do not work well.,,,,A little online research revealed that better ventilation can fix this problem. I haven’t been able to try this yet—hopefully it works!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get it without the fire retardant treatment... Used in the summer, in nice weather, it is a good tent. In wet weather the material covering the inside gets soaked, and the advertised weight is increased a lot. Luckily it dries rather quickly in the sun. And yes, I know it's made for dry winter use.,,But what is up with that flame retardant goop the tent is treated with?Untreated the material is much softer, and the tent doesn't need to be aired out for an hour or two before using it. Every night! And even then I'm pretty sure it kills brain cells. I saved a lot of money importing it to Norway myself, but had I known about the treatment I wouldn't have bought it.,,And it's way too small for two people and gear...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True 4 season tent, not just for freezing nights. Very lightweight, and strong tent. Extremely easy to set up. This tent is only 2 inches narrower, and 3 inches shorter than the Bibler Ahwahnee, but costs 75 less, is made with the same materials, and also weighs much less. Vents in the top can be opened, or sealed shut. It holds in heat during colder weather, but the most condensation you'll get is some dew or frost on the poles. I've never woken up wet before. In warmer climates, it is still comfortable, and by opening up the top vents and the top of the door, you will get a decent amount of air flow. Make sure you get the footprint to protect the floor. The only thing not superb about it, the fabric smells quite odd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is THE mountaineering tent. Bought this tent in 2007 from Moosejaw. I have used it extensively in the Andes, Alaska Range and Sierra. This tent is super durable. The internal pole design is not only strong but makes it much easier to set up in the wind. The best way to do this is climb inside the tent and have your partner feed you the poles. This way the tent won't blow away. If you do break, loose or have to eat the poles you could use this tent as a decent bivy. I'm thinking about getting a Firstlight for super fast summit pushes but will always use this tent for base camp or when I can just take one tent due to its durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely workable to set up in wind and dark. Cozy!! I have a regular I-tent from Bibler and it is so perfect for cold, windy mountain venues. It sets up quickly even in the dark. It keeps you snug like a bug in a rug; but I have never used it in more moderate conditions and so I don't know what that would be like. I got this longer tent for my 6'2" nephew and he is deliriously excited to use it. He says that on Mt. Rainier on any given summer night, there is a whole row of Biblers at the high camps. I will use it there this summer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tent This tent is great in the harsh winds of the cascades. Because it is a single wall tent it is necessary to sleep with the vent open and the door partially open to prevent condensation. It's a sturdy tent and very easy to set-up. It is pricey though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Fast, Compact, Simple, Rugged! What a difference a few pounds make - I have been toting around my old North Face 4 season tent not only 3 lbs. heavier but the space needed in my pack was nearly twice the size!! This tent is perfect for the light and fast adventurer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality for severe situations I went to Patagonia with this tent. The weather punished it mercilessly for two weeks, and I never had a problem. Light, dry, super easy to set up, only need a compact campsite. GREAT.
