"Awesome quality" 		          07/01/09
I love this head lamp. I went camping with my girl and thank god I had my head lamp because hers was super weak and ended up dying. She couldn't believe how much light it provided. We used it as our light all weekend long in the dark deep woods. My boyfriend wears it when his foreheads all sweaty and it's not dirty or smelly in the least. I'm going camping in Cali and can't wait to use it!!!!

I have used this thing from night ascents up mountains to reading a book, to TCB while the power is out. This holds up well. I have not abused it terribly but it has taken the occasional drop. Good battery life.

Have had two of these, BD replaced my first one after hard use destroyed it. Second one has a loose piece from use. Overall a great light, didn't take on all my punishment. That said the batteries last forever with this thing and will provide hours and hours of light, even if low light, never leaving you in the dark. Stood up to damp weather and rain very well...

This is a pretty good little headlamp. Bright enough for some night adventures. Selecting the brightness levels is a PITA, and should really be easier.

I like this headlamp, it's bright and good on battery life so long as you utilize the LEDs for the majority of your use. Both the xenon and LEDs are pretty damn bright. The functions are a bit funny but you get the grip of it after a little bit of playing with it. I recommend.

It's hard to imagine a more functional headlamp than the BD Cosmo. With first use, I was impressed by the brightness of the LED lights, and in particular the two primary modes, a large LED spotlight or two accessory LED lights that create a wider lighting spread. The light portion can articulate and angle down towards the ground, which enables the user to adjust the lighting direction to their own comfort. That said, I was very confused by the multi-function controls - supposedly this has more than just two light modes, but I was never able to figure out how to push the single front facing button to get them to work. Granted, I'm too lazy to read the supplied manual and if I ever found

"Wouldn't Recommend" 		          04/21/08
It worked fine until I dropped it by accident not even hard. The plastic backing immediately snapped so it is no longer held to the band. Also, it's very hard to switch between the different settings with one button like the other reviewer said. I like Black Diamond, but not this product. I wouldn't buy it again.

"Good value, simple" 		          03/25/08
Great value, with multiple brightness settings and modes. It grips well to bare foreheads, hats, and helmets. Only complaint is that all the different features and brightness settings are controlled through the single center gray button. Simple, yes...efficient, not so much. In order to switch between settings, the user has to use half-depressions of the single button. The problem is, the button doesn't click or give any audible/tangible feedback when half-depressed. Also, half-depressions are hard to control, and sometimes I would find myself giving an accidental full depression, and turning the whole unit off. This gets worse with gloved fingers. Still a great value, but has room for imp

"simple...effective" 		          03/15/08
One of the best investments I've ever made. My cosmo has lasted me forever and I hardly ever have to replace the batteries and it stays very bright through out the battery's duration. The hands free is lovely and is lighter and just as compact as any flashlight. There are not bells or whistles on this noggin torch...it doesn't turn green, red, flash, or do backflips... it simply gives good steady light for it's wearer.

black diamond is awesome. i had a black diamond headlight for years and it stopped working i think the wires broke. i just mailed it back in and no questions asked they sent me back this one. its awesome
