Great harness. Like the fact I can get it on and take it off without having to remove my ski. Keep in my pack and harness up when needed. Works well for hunting also.
This is a great step up from the regular alpine bod. The additional padding around the waist and the belay loop are a nice plus from the regular alpine. This harness has a little more comfort without sacrificing much of the minimalist qualities. You can still strap it on without lifting your feet off the ground, which is great if you're wearing crampons. It's perfect for alpine climbing, but it's also good for indoor and outdoor climbing. I've experienced a few falls wearing this harness both toprope and trad, and given it's minimalist qualities, I didn't find the falls to be painful.
Its really great! Simple, durable, light, wide straps, looks good too. Its a bit of a hassle to put on though for the first few times. Once you put it on, you can wear it for hours and hours no problem.
For the money, you really can't beat this harness. The leg support straps are extra wide and give lots of support and the waist strap is padded in a comfy liner that keeps me comfortable for hours. The clips for the leg straps are a new and welcome addition to Black Diamond harnesses. Takes me two seconds to undo the legs and I don't need to adjust anything to put them back on again. Love it!
The best all-around harness i've found. Great value, function, weight, durability and comfort. I'm safe, I can do all the types of climbing I want and I didn't spend much to do it. Very pleased!
Have used this harness on a regular basis for 4 solid years. Got it from REI, went back to get a new one since my current one is starting to freak me out every time I'm swinging by a rope high off the ground and I'm wondering "why didn't I buy a new harness before this climb?" but every time I get back on yhe ground I think "well it probably has a couple more climbs in it."So I went back to REI, but they don't carry it anymore (fools!) I tried on a couple newer more expensive harnesses without leg clips and they were not comfortable at all, so I'm getting another BD Bod online from Moosejaw, which btw has already won me over with their clever rhetoric. I'm sold.
True to the name this is a good all-around harness. If you're interested in buying one harness that you can use for rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering this is a great buy, especially considering the price. Comfortable to hang from for short periods of time and a breeze to put on with crampons.
Ok so I have gotten other harnesses before they work ok and they are never comfortable but this one is. It doesn't make your leg itch or feel uncomfortable this is a nice one i say you buy it.
I bought this for Adventure Racing. However, have not needed it in a single race. I do think it is not too constrictive, and seems comfortable. I can still pee in it.
This is my first harness that I have purchased. I so far have used it for top roping at our local climbing gym and have found it to be great all around. It is very comfortable, not distracting in the least bit while climbing, walking, falling etc... Super easy to put on, and all the extras are great as well.
