A durable floorless shelter designed for the backcountry, the Betamid by Black Diamond provides shelter from rain, snow, wind and sun, year after year. The canopy is built with polyurethane-coated ripstop nylon with factory-taped seams and a single zippered entry with storm flap. It pitches taut and is fast and easy to set up and break down with seven stake outs and two adjustable length trekking or ski poles (not included). The floorless design lets you cook and eat dinner without worrying about spilling on the floor. For a three-season shelter, the Betamid can be used with the Beta Bug.

"Awesome Fly!" 04/19/11
I have had my Betamid Fly for several years. All I can say is what a versatile and well designed piece of equipment! The great thing about this fly besides being light is that you are able to use your hiking poles to keep the fly erect. You can also run a line across the top if you have access to trees etc. I have had this in 150km winds and pelting rain and it has never leaked nor been blown over. This fly is also great with the Betabug inner which turns the fly into a complete tent. BD hit a home run when they brought these out. Highly recommended.
