ALL CLIMBING SALES ARE FINAL. The ATC-XP Friction Device by Black Diamond maintains the silky-smooth feeding of the ATC but ups the braking power. For belaying and rappelling with 7.7-11 mm ropes, it’s designed with a smooth, low-friction side and a high-friction side with v-shaped grooves for three times more friction. An extended central web keeps biners and ropes properly oriented and helps reduce kinking. Weight: 89 g (3.1 oz) |

"Solid buy" |

| Great buy if you plan to belay and repel. I'm only 145lbs and can easily hold a 250lb climber taking a good whipper. If you don't plan to repel though I'd fork out the cash for a Grigri. | |

| works just great. I like how you can switch between a higher grip (toothed side) mode or a lower friction mode. | |

| It works well, I did have trouble pulling through on the high friction side while top-roping but it will catch a fall with ease. Plus I got allot of eeewww's and ahhhhh's. It's a looker, like me. | |

"This is a BEAST!!" |

| I love this ATC!! The teeth are amazing & makes it so much easier on the belayer. This has got to be the best ATC i've used to date. Mine doesn't look like the one in the picture though. Instead of the silver & orange look, mine is maroon & the loop is black. I actually like it better though so no complaining here! Seriously though, your search for a high quality ATC is over. Buy this bad boy!!!! | |

"Excellent belay device" |

| I've owned many of the "tube" style belay devices and this is my favorite. Feeds smoothly and easily. This one was purchased to replace a Petzl Reverso which was difficult to feed rope through, especially for lead belaying. The ATC-XP is also great for thinner ropes (we have a 9.2 mm) when you use the teeth on the brake side. | |

"Great for little belayers!" |

| I love using this ATC-I'm pretty small so the people I climb with can get up to 100 lbs more than me-and the friction works greater when lowering people or when someone takes a fall. | |

| Works really well. Have used it top roping and has performed perfectly for me. Has a lot of friction which makes it really easy to lock. | |

| This this is so awesome I bought a two, actually no, I just lost the first one. But it belays well and will hold the rope without any little slips and you hardly have to hold on to the rope because of the "high friction mode". | |

"best ATC ever" |
04/02/09 |
| I used to use one of those plain ones, and would pretty much either go flying off the ground or get blisters on my hands when I would let people (mainly my 60-lb heavier boyfriend) down. But not with this bad boy. It gives me way more control when belaying the fatties (jk darling). I don't know why people still even use the other kind. Everyone needs one. I've never seen one with that logo thingy on the side though. | |

"Best belay device ever made for the money!!!" |

| I've had mine for a few years now. Just finnally replaced it with a new one to stomp the nagging from the worried girlfriend. These things are great. Lightweight, easy to use, and catch me every time. | |
