The Black Diamond 50 Caliber Pack is a cavernous, top-loading cragging Black Diamond backpack with unique “stand up” haul bag style bottom. This Black Diamond equipment features 5mm V-Flex suspension, padded shoulder straps, top-load access, tuck-away helmet/rope holder, and is hydration compatible. The Black Diamond 50 Caliber Pack has really helped me pick up girls at the bar when I tell them I go rock climbing, but I was told that similar results may vary.

This pack has been very durable for me and hasn't shown any signs of wear after being dragged to countless crags. The last reviewer must've gotten a lemon. I like this pack, but it's not perfect. It could have a bit more compartmentalization, there's only two zippered pockets (both on the top part) besides the main part of the pack. The design for a hydration bladder is usable but not ideal. On the plus side, the 50 Caliber holds a full trad rack, two ropes and whatever other gear I need with room to spare for food, water and extra clothing. 4/5 despite some minor shortcomings.
"This pack holds stuff, at least it does that..."

I got this pack through my old job and at first i was impressed. I mean its a backpack it holds things what else could you want. However when under light to moderate use in the first week the damn thing starts to fall apart, well then i question the product no the user. I have had seams blow, factory welded patches coming off. but...maybe mine is a lemon lets however it still has this aggravating habit of folding over and floppily shaking ever which way when not loaded to the brim. get a neon gear from Mammut instead.
