"One of the best ice axes on the market" 		          10/13/09
I just used this ice axe to climb the Kautz Glacier route on Mt. Rainier and it was perfect. Lightweight and very nice in the hand. You barely even realize your holding it because of the weight. Highly reccomended!

This axe is well designed and well built. It is really light for quick ascents to the glacier and does not weigh you down as you climb. This axe has wow factor when you pick it up and seems to be built tough.

"This is it. BD solved the ice axe equation." 		          06/22/09
It's light, but the pick still swings. The head has a T cross section to give your palm a large pressure surface for slamming the spike puppy home in dense snow. The had and spike have holes large enough to clip for a make-shift deadman. I've used this axe on mountains all over the world and have never seen a better solution for an alpine axe. Pay the extra bucks for the weight savings and titanium bling for the Pro over the standard Raven.

"Good lightweight axe" 		          04/02/09
This axe is very light and great for glacier travel and high-altitude mountaineering when every ounce counts. It's extreme light weight hinders it a little when chopping steps in hard ice, though.

This axe does what it's meant to and it's light. I've used this axe mountaneering and backcountry skiing. It holds a good edge and is a great first axe.
