"Save your noggin" 		          10/19/09
I recently took a bad climbing fall and had to be evac'ed to the hospital. Both I and others on the scene believe that if I had not been wearing a helmet, the consequences would have been fatal. I will be replacing that grey Half Dome with another Half Dome. The new one will be in orange, as I have noticed that color has the added ability to attract hummingbirds.

"Sweet Deal" 		          10/15/09
Definitely one of the cheaper models out on the market, but still looks and feels great. Protects your head great, and is easily adjustable to fit most head sizes. The only thing about this helmet I don't like, is that it collects a lot of sweat, so I would recommend wearing a bandanna before using this helmet on a climb. Sweet deal.

"Good to GO" 		          09/29/09
I have a bald head and it's comfortable to wear. Adjusts easily enough. I don't think I have a big head, but the chin strap is bottomed out. Thankfully it fit perfectly at that point. The "grey" color is more a blue color than grey. I bought my wife one and it fits her tiny head just fine as well. Give me more MOOSEJAW stickers to put on them!!!!!

"I like that it's purple and cheap." 		          09/16/09
I got this because of the price. And also because it comes in this awesome lavender color. The guys I climb with don't take me seriously anymore, so maybe I should have rethought that one, but still, lavender is pretty cool, if you are a girl. Also, it protected me from a small rock once already and from hitting my head against the side of a door when I was showing it to my friends at my house. So it's a good investment for climbers and non-climbers alike.

Good comfortable helmet that is easy on the old wallet. This thing is able to adjust to fit any size noggin and is strong enough for just about anything from falling carabiners to konkin in caves!

"head is still in one piece" 		          08/18/09
Lightweight, comfy, and does what it's supposed to do. It's a bit jarring when objects from above land on your head, but my head is still whole, so I guess it worked. A little more padding would be nice, but that would add bulk, so maybe not such a good idea. My girlfriend still claims I'm dumber, even though I had the helmet on and since she's always right, I suppose I have to believe her.

"Does the job it is meant too" 		          06/14/09
Used the lid in the Whites (NH) many time and it is always easy to wear and saved my ass once. Took a 50 footer and hit my mellon on the ice and the Half Dome kept my head all in one piece. Never climb without it

"Light and comfortable" 		          06/07/09
I used this helmet on a week long Alaska Range mountaineering course. It's nice and light. The knob on the back is great for quickly readjusting the helmet when you change your hat. The chin strap is a bit more of difficult, but I didn't have to adjust that all that much. It also protects your head well too - I took a chunk of ice to the head while ice climbing. :-p

This helmet is a breat brain bucket. It is great looking and comfortable. It is also versatile. I use mine for of coarse rapelling, and rock climbing, but also caving. The clips on the side are great.

this is by far the best helmet out there. it is totaly bombproof and is much better and lighter than many of the others. there is no vision blocked and i stay cool while in the sun as well. the fit is really great, i had the petzl meteor 3 and it was light but fragile and had a really strange look while it was on. it looked way to big. the half dome was much better and the shell can take multiple hits highly recomended for ice and alpine routes and definately for rock climbing
