The Gizmo Headlamp by Black Diamond can be stashed unnoticed almost anywhere. When you need it, three SuperBright LEDs in a tiltable housing produce bright, ambient light. The clustered LEDs offer two brightness settings for efficient lighting as well as a strobe mode. And, to prevent the accidental on and resultant battery drain, the new momentary switch must be held for half a second before the lamp turns on or off. The Gizmo also features a removable elastic headband and an auto-off function that triggers after four hours.

"Very bright, love the strobe mode!" 		          02/01/10
This headlamp is perfect. Very light, very bright, and the strobe mode is cool too! Imagine this, you are stranded up in the mountains and you have nothing to use for a signal. Simply find a really long branch, attach the headlamp to it, place it in strobe mode, then raise it up and wait for the calvary to arrive.

This light is tiny and light. Works real well for trail use or anything else in the dark for that matter(wink wink). Now don't try to think this thing should compete with higher output lights. But for durable, lightweight use you will like it but it won't blowup your hiking buddies eyeballs.

"Fine for camping and backpacking, not for everest" 		          12/14/09
This thing will serve it's purpose if you are a recreational camper. It's got fine build quality and produces a lot of light. It is not sturdy enough to withstand the blow of a jackhammer, meaning, if you are a bad ass super rich adventurer, spend another 20$ on a headlamp.

If your looking for lightweight, you've come to the right place, if your looking for lots of light, then you have come to the wrong place, its very lightweight but it doesnt give off to much light. It is perfect for backpacking though and i will continue to use it on thoughs trips.

Black Diamond, once again you have put out a truly great product at a way affordable price. This light is awesome: it fits well on the dome, it's "light",and also, it's waterproof! I take it with me on all my trips. Also, I recently moved into a house with a walk-in closet with no light, so it hangs on the hook outside the door and I can see really well into my dark, cavernous closet with it!

When I put on this headlamp, it is so comfortable, that I barely know it's there. I like the brightness settings as well as the ability to adjust the angle of the beam. I have taken about 6 camping trips since I bought it and the 2 AAA batteries seem to last forever. Leave it to BD to make quality gear!

"Best head lamp EVER!!!" 		          08/31/09
I used this headlamp on my camping trip and I can honestly say that thanks to this little headlamp, my camping experiance was injury free. It helped me see things in the dark that a regular flashlight wouldn't have picked up...Like a Woodchuck. Remember...How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

love this product...HOWEVER only problem we have run into is when the light itself slips off the headband. Then it can be a little tricky. But otherwise great with the light, great with the different settings. Smashtastic.

"Compact, good backup headlamp." 		          05/20/09
It's a good backup headlamp. I'm not that satisfied with its plastic built quality in comparison to my Petzl Tikka Headlamp, but it is better in terms of functionality. It has 3 lighting settings. Works great for me here in the Philippines where it's always raining and humid. The waterproof function will be helpful, but I haven't use it yet.

It's a pretty basic headlamp that does a fine job of shining light and freeing up your hands. Headlamps in general are fantastic for camping & even cycling. This one has full bright, half bright and blink settings. I'm not sure what blink is for, but we had an awesome rave at the Great National Sand Dunes in Colorado with it. The strap is comfy and plenty adjustable; it even fits around my buddy's Pluto-sized melon. The lamp can tilt down, but can be the notches are little sloppy but still get the job done. There's no red LED like on some others. Batteries didn't quite last the stated life/hour-expectancy, but I'm sure it was on in my bag.
