"Great Harness" 01/30/10
Super Packable, light weight, and great for alpine use. It does pinch a little if your hanging with your legs straight down. But it goes away when you sit back into a rappelling position. Also the clips are a must when using crampons.
"The second and last harness I've ever bought" 01/15/10
This harness is amazing. I bought mine a few years back and never had to/wanted to replace it. sometimes, just for fun, i sleep in it while hanging in a tree. its comfortable in the "man region" and isn't too tight on my super-muscular thighs. Great accessory loops and if jesus were to rock climb, he would get the BD Alpine
"I already owned one of these and bought another as a back up." 12/14/09
This is a great harness. It is easy to put on and take off, there are plenty of gear loops, AND IT IS CHEAP. I wanted a second harness so I could take friends/family climbing with me and I really liked the one I already owned. The only complaint I have about this harness is, if you are a male, you have to adjust certain body parts to prevent...how should I say this...compression.
"Minimalist" 12/06/09
Leg loop clips make it really easy to get on and off without removing your crampons. Very simple and lightweight with no padding whatsoever. Think of it as a seatbelt... It's there only in case you need it. It also has convenient gear loops, which many basic harnesses lack.P.S. - I'd imagine taking a fall in this thing feels a little bit like getting in a car accident.
"Good Harness for the price" 12/01/09
If your looking for a good and affordable harness, look no further. I purchased this to use working so i wouldn't have to worry about wrecking/loosing my expensive ones. Let me tell you, I now worry about wrecking or loosing this bad boy because of how much I like it. You will not be disappointed with this harness, buy it!
"Light, minimalist." 09/19/09
Perfect if you are climbing in cold, high places - where you have layers of padding because this harness is not a comfortable harness. But you will appreciate not dragging around unneccessary weight at altitude, and the easy fit over any clothing.
"Great Quality for Low bucks! Simple Design provides all you need for a simple climb." 08/13/09
The Alpine Bod is probably the cheapest harness in the general market. The simple design will do its job in keeping you safe. The Pros:The Price! Although its cheap, it does its job.The set up is safe and it still has plenty of gear loops. The wide Hip belt gives a bit more comfort and support than skinner belts. The set up forces to you to rope yourself in using the entire belt as an anchor, not just a loop that is sown on the front of the harness. The Cons:There is no padding. This can cause some comfort issues, especially if you are wearing all day.The harness is very flimsy, and therefore lacks the stiffness and support of some pricier harnesses.
"Minimalist Alpine Harness" 07/02/09
This harness has everything that you want for alpine climbing without anything extra. Leg loop clips make for easy entry and exit. Wouldn't want to hang out in it all day, but it's meant for alpine endeavors anyway.
"Great mountaineering harness!!" 04/02/09
Great harness for glacier travel and general mountaineering. Not having a tie in loop makes it super easy to put on and take off without having to step through, which is a plus with crampons on! The clips on the leg loops are great when nature calls. This harness is light and very packable. Overall, I'd say its the best bang for your buck!!
