The body of the String Ridge is made with breathable nylon rip-stop with closeable mesh vents and the fly and floor are constructed with lightweight Cordura rip-stop with silicone treatment. Every piece of material has an added layer of 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating. Big Agnes uses their high-quality DAC Featherlite NSL pole system, including poles, press fit connectors, and hubs, made from TH72M aluminum with eco-friendly anodizing. Set up is quick and easy using the simple pole and hub design with DAC Twist and HClips to attach the pole frames to the tent body. Solid two person winter tent.I got this tent after returning a very well used 3 season tent for warranty service, which they could not repair and gave me a full store credit for. (Awesome warranty department),,I've used this tent for two seasons now, mostly doing mountaineering around the Cascades. So far it has been very solid. For one thing, this tent actually sleeps two people! It is quite roomy inside, even with a bunch of winter gear. ,,The tent is well made, and has stood up to high winds and snow without any problem.,,Now of course, being a four season tent (not three like in Moosejaw's description), it is a bit too warm to use in summer. However, that said, the ventilation is quite good and you could probably get away with using it in the fall or spring.,,Overall, it may be slightly heavier than some other single walled tents etc, but the extra room and durability gives it a thumbs up in my book.
