The Big Agnes Pitchpine UL 45 Degree Sleeping Bag is an ultralight sleeping bag for minimalist backpackers. When it comes to trimming the fat inside your pack, this bag can certainly help along the way. Step one, Big Agnes has started with 850 fill DownTek™, a water repellent down insulation. Incredibly lightweight, and resists moisture. So cool. At 1lb, 4oz (regular), it isn't breaking your back and still keeps you warm on nights down to 45°F. The half pad sleeve helps keep your sleeping pad in place as you snooze and roll about so you'll stay comfortable all through the summer nights.

Light weight, pack small, Zipper drive you crazy! This review is for the previous year model, the green Pitchpine.
I previously had the BA Yampa, which according to the product support email differed from the green Pitchpine only in diameter, a half length zipper, and length of sleeping pad sleeve (green one is partial length).
The bag is a bit tighter, (yet still OK, and I have broad shoulders) than the Yampa. Temp rating is right on, and I actually used it at freezing while inside a tent, and was warm while sleeping in gym shorts and a silk shirt. I'm a side sleeper and the bag was comfy, allowing me to draw my knees up without too much binding.
The bag packs small, and weighs 20.9 ounces on my postal scale without the stuff sack.
Zipper: Ahh, here is where swearing should be allowed! If the bag is used with a pad inserted in the pad sleeve (and I used both the BA and NeoAir 20" wide pads), then the open zipper curves into "S" shaped wiggles, and zipping the bag up requires pulling the zipper from the bottom to straighten out the wiggles, while trying to pull the zipper tab up. Takes the skill of a contortionist! I would gladly trade out this zipper for the one that was on the old Yampa.
My real rating would be 3.5 stars, and solely on the zipper problem. And is it a problem - design flaw methinks. I'm going to ask BA if there is anything they can do to replace the zipper - even at my own expense - for one that works.
