Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved it!... while it held air It's warm, REALLY comfortable, packs down super small, and at this price it's hard to beat. The fabric seems durable - I used it for 100 nights and it was never punctured. By the end, however, I had to re-inflate twice a night to stay off the ground. I filled the tub and submerged the pad to see where the problem was and it was a bunch of micro-leaks on the seams surrounding the pad. Also, it fit great length wise - I'm 6'2" 195lbs, but I've got wide shoulders and if I did it again I'd definitely go with a wide version. I ended up returning it and dropping the extra cash on a therm-a-rest NeoAir all season (L), which I couldn't be happier with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks to the glue and patch material, this diminutive packer kept me insulated I used the Big Agnes Air Core Pad over a week's trip to a remote village in the Honduras mountains. On a dental/medical mission we slept on army cots. I put the Big Agnes under me, wasn't difficult to inflate, but I'm a windbag anyway. I did have a problem. Somehow, and I'm not sure how, it was punctured the first night. It has a built in pocket in the container bag which holds spare matching material and glue. I cut a small patch glued it on and I'm packing that thing again for my return trip, now a year later. I would buy again, but if it was going on the ground, I would go with a more traditional pad. The material is very thin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Pad for three season camping. Have had my BA IAC for a long time, and it is very comfortable. Absolutely puts to shame CCF pads and thin self inflating pads. I have never had a single problem with the pad leaking on me. Material is not as slick as some on here would imply, as there is a definite texture to it. I use it with Big Agnes sleeping bags with the pad sleeve, but have also used it with traditional sleeping bags. I have never once slid off the pad. One complaint I do have about the pad is the valve. It does not pass a large volume of air, and this means it takes long to inflate and deflate. I much prefer Exped flat valves to the standard twist valves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When your'e sound asleep you don't think about the cost but when your'e up all night, you sure will. I am 6'1" and 230 lbs. I chose this pad after sleeping on both a BA pad and foam pad during our recent trip to the Appalatian Trail. Because I sleep on my side and I am a big guy it was an easy decision to go with the BA. The Thermarest pads are nice but I still felt the gound at my shoulders and hips. I chose the wide because I move around a lot and felt like I was falling off the narrower pads. If you want the same comfort on the trail that you have at home with little weight then Big Agnes is the way to go. ,,,,BTW, I don't mind having to blow it up considering I am only on the trail several weekends a year. The extra thickness is worth the effort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really comfortable but a pain to inflate Got one of these prior to purchasing my Deer Park sleeping bag. It fits perfectly in the pocket provided for it in that bag but is a bit of a pain to use with a non Big Agnes bag. You will slide around a lot on it if your sleeping bag is made of a slippery nylon or polyester outer fabric like my MEC was. Bought a BA bag from Moosejaw and solved the problem. The bag is inflated by blowing into the brass screw valve with your mouth and takes about 30 to 35 full breaths to inflate. It's best to do it in stages with a rest in between unless you have the lungs of a marathon runner. Overall a good product and comfortable to sleep on, just a bit of work to inflate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Agnus Nut I have been a fan of Big Agnus products since 2004. I have had the Encampment sleeping bag and use it for back packing at Philmont Boy Scout camp. I had a non insulated pad at that time and have graduated to the insulated air core pad. Boy what a difference this makes. Talk about being warm in the winter and actually cooler in the summer. You do not stick to the back of the bag. Also talk about agreat warrenty on these units. My other pad had a leak and I could not find it, I eneded up sending it back after 6 years and they sent me out a new pad which my younger son uses today. so for the cost and the after sales support I would definitly recomend purchasing this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact, Comfortable, Few Drawbacks It's tiny when packed, comfortable, and insulating from the cold ground. Sure, it requires you to inflate it, but it is well worth the effort (which really isn't that much). At 6'0" I do not feel that it is lacking in length, but skinny as I may be, an extra inch or so in width would be appreciated in this pad. The only real draw back that I can see in this pad is that it loses some air in a 24 hour period, which isn't noticeable during the night. I always find that I have to give a couple more breaths to re-inflate it each night, but that's nothing major. I think that it compensates with its compact size and comfort, areas in which it far surpasses the Thermarest alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy warmth? What's not to love? The insulated Air Core combines the comfort of a larger, heavier air mattress with warmth and ultra-portability. I am 6' 5'' tall, and the long pad fits me nearly perfectly. Once inflated, it is much thicker than most thermarests, providing more cushion. It deflates and packs to a smaller size than many thermarests. AND it has primaloft insulation to keep you warm on those chilly nights. It is perfect for backpacking, and will significantly increase the comfort of your tent or hammock. The only conceivable downside is that it is not self-inflating. However, if you want to whine about that, don't go outside.
