In case of emergency can be used as a flotation deviceJust returned from Senegal and this pad made the trip. Having to be jammed in a car with no suspension all day long, dodging goats, donkeys, and people makes you long for relaxation and this pad delivers. I honestly had the best night's sleep ever--compare to cuddle time with your significant other, or just your other.,,I have read other reviews and people complain of the slippery nature of the surface, but I noticed no slippage and stayed put all night long. It also welcomes side sleepers and beats the pants off the over priced therm-a-rests. Best part, aside from the wonderful sleeping, it how light and small it packs down.

Best night's sleep in the backcountry ever!I ordered this one for my wife. I have used the longer one for a couple years, spending 25+ nights in the backcountry on it ranging from 13,000' in Colorado to the Grand Canyon to monkey infested jungles of Southwest China. I am a large person (6'4", 235) and the thinner mats were never comfortable for me. This pad is amazingly comfortable. It is quite durable in my opinion, but I am careful not to sleep on bare ground. It takes a bit to blow up, but that is a small trade-off for a good night sleep. Practice deflaiting it at home. It can be tricky at first to get all the air out so it will go back in the stuff sack.

Best all around pad! Super Comfy! After dealing with the foam pads for many years I decided to take the plunge and try an inflatable. The mummy version of this pad is great. It's actually pretty light and has a decent R-value compared to other inflatables. The first night on the trail with this pad was like sleeping on a warm cloud! The neoair is lighter but I think this pad is more comfortable and actually warmer. The only half-assed complaint I could think of is that it's a little noisy if you move around alot. Did I mention that it packs down to about the size of a 24oz beer? The bottom line is, you can't find anything this comfortable that is this light. Thank you Big Agnes! I'll sleep with you any night!

Yeah, Daddy likeThe first time I ever used this sleepin pad was when I had way to much to drink (or should I say the perfect amount) at my friends house and had to stay the night. The pad was extremly comfortable and I slept like a dead president. The only downfall was that i fell asleep with a beer in my hand and all the beer ran down the valleys on the outside of the pad right to my waist. You guessed it, I woke up and had to figure out that I did not wizz myself. I soon bought the exact sleepin pad and went camping near tahoe where snow was present and stayed warm and comfy the whole night from the chilly terra firma!

It works.I bought this BA sleeping pad about three months ago and have used it extensively in Yosemite in the cold and it has stood up exceptionally well. The fabric is rugged, the design is comfortable, and set up takes about a minute and a half of blowing. Deflation is a breeze, too, just unscrew the not-detachable-can't-get-lost cap when you wake up and stay in your bag for another thirty seconds, then roll it up like normal, starting at the foot, to get the rest of the air out. The mummy shape saves that much more weight and space. It even fits into my bivy, no problem.

Hard to stay on.. but warmIf you are like me and have a hard time staying in one place all night, you should probably go for the rectangular style instead of the mummy.,,,,I owned this pad back in 2006, and took it out on a snowy Spring day above 10K feet. My first issue was that I couldn't find level ground, and had to settle with a slight downward slant for setting up my tent. I then spent the whole night sliding off my sleeping pad, or waking up with only half my body on this pad. This is mostly a personal problem, but someone like myself should stick to the 'wider is better' version.

If you are a big guy (or gal) a must have.I am 6'3 250lbs, so comfort and light weight are unheard of, until now. I have tried most sleeping pads and felt ok but this pad is amazing. I was worried about the durability since it is a blow up mattress. At all altitudes and all temps it has yet to deflate at night. I think it sleeps as warm as any other mat, but for the light weight mat I'll wear another layer at night. Have a good lung capacity before buying this, asthma and this mat are not compatible. It takes 15 lung fulls but a little light headed is acceptable for a good night sleep.

great sleeping pad butneed big lungsI got this pad to go with the Big Agnes Grouse Mountain bag. As expected the two work very well together. The pad matches the bags 15 degree rating. I was also to shave a few ounces with the mummy shaped pad since wasn’t a concern since the pad slips into the sleeping bag prevent me from rolling off of it. The only complaint is that is seems to take a couple minutes to inflate (but also expected since it is 2.5" thick).
