The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL1 Tent is a ultralight backpacking tent for solo hikers looking for more space than a bivy sack. The Fly Creek UL1 is a free standing home away from home that won't weigh your pack down, coming in at a trail weight (tent body, poles, and fly) of 1lb, 11oz. The DAC Featherlite NSL poles have a single hub and the tent body clips to the poles with DAC Twist clips for fast and easy set up. The bathtub floor has a 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating to keep the wet out, while the mesh upper provides ventilation as you catch your z's. The single D-shaped door can be opened wide and secured to the side during the day, and zipped closed at night to keep out the bugs. The rain fly shields you from Mother Nature's tears and creates a large vestibule to keep your gear and boots dry. The 38 inches of tent height allows you to sit up as you wait out the rain. Throw your headlamp in the mesh pocket above the tent door, so you know exactly where to reach before venturing out for a late night bathroom break.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty much what I expected My previous shelters, for reference were an MSR Single Hubba (which saved my ass on Isle Royale in Early September of 2010), followed by a Z-Packs Hexamid went I went sub 10lb for my Base. Hexamid Twin is huge inside for a tent that after seamsealing was 17 ounces WITH stakes. I always wanted to see what Big Agnes was about & looking for lightest tent I could find that could handle weather like that (always worried about high wind in the Hex). Hubba didn't even flinch at gale force so I figured something with a similar design (hubbed+pole double wall) could be made lighter and still do it. Enter the UL1. Had it up to the U.P. Very small but I'm 5'8" with a tiny pack so it works. Entry is better on Hubba. No condensation yet. Nice tent. w/11 zpacks stakes:,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best end loader out there I own a BA copper spur ul2 and wanted to go lighter for solo trips. The CS ul2 is a great tent so I stuck with Big Agnes. The Fly Creek allows me to use it with just the footprint and enjoy a few bugs or carry a bit more and have the full shelter. The end door is fine for a one person tent. That's why I opted to save the Bucks between this and the copper spur single unit. Don't let other reviewers fool you. The Big Agnes UL series are good for 50mph even with just six stakes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weight Worth It I have used this tent now for two years in the Colorado Rockies & on the AT - bottom line - it delivers. The weight and brand reputation is what led me to get this tent among many competitors. It sets up quickly and is made from high quality materials. Of course, as with any 1-person tent, it would be ideal to have a slightly larger vestibule; but I just store my shoes and a bottle of water underneath one anyway. Last use was in heavy rain on the AT and the fly did keep out most of the rain and did not saturate (except the vestibule door). A little splash-up occurred over the tub floor; but some of that was my error in not staking down the floor (did the fly only). All my backpacking friends have BA tents for the same reason - quality & reliability.
