"Excellent build quality and light weight in one!"
This is an excellent tent. It's not desinged for the minimalist but it is still light enough and very roomy for 3 people. My wife and I like extra room so we decided this tent was for us. The open sky is one of the reasons we love this tent so much. We've now had it for a couple of heavily used seasons and we've not had a single problem with it. It's also light enough to be used for backpacking or works well for car camping as we've done both.
very light weigth (main reason for buying it), easy to put together, rolls back up pretty small and is very roomy, prefect size for two people and a dog! I've only used once so far and looking forward to using it more, the day we did use it was cold and windy and the tent stood well against some very high cold winds and was not drafty at all and stayed in place. Was a little bit of a challenge putting it away with the wind but what tent wouldn't be?
I bought this for my boyfriend for an early Christmas gift, and he took it to Isle Royale this past fall. He said it worked out great, MUCH lighter than his old 4-season tent he's been dragging around. There were three guys in his group, all three of them could fit inside (barely), but they had to leave their gear outside. Two people plus gear leaves room to spare. I can't wait to try it out this spring!
Researched tents for 2 weeks in price range between 250-500. Even though a little pricey; WELL WORTH IT! Extremely light for "3" person tent, easy to set up, 8 interior pockets, kept all moisture out, 2 nice size vestibules, 2 vents, very warm, very roomy. 2 negatives: material is very thin (for less weight) so need to be careful (recommend footprint) and kept in condensation from my gf and my breath in 32 degree weather. inside of fly was soaked but did not drip on us (probably would have if it was windy out).
"Great tent, easy setup and plenty of room, for two people. Not what I would consider a three person."
Great tent, easy setup and plenty of room, for two people. Not what I would consider a three person tent unless your very thin or very "close".Setup at the house before we went on our trip. Took all of about five minuets to set up.Withstood the light rain we had. No leaks. No loud " flapping" noise that others mentioned. Maybe they didn't guy it out properly.I would highly recommend this tent.
This is our go-to tent (also have a Hilleberg and Terra Nova) for 3 season backpacking. Of course it is fine for winter as well if weather is clear. Pretty light, huge interior space, pitches so easily and quickly, free-standing, and easily cleaned (pick it up and shake it out). Not too slope-y at the ends so I am comfortable with my large-size Neoair pad. If I could only own one tent, this would be it.
Bought this tent last spring after doing a bit of research... ok a ton. We wanted a durable, lightweight for backpacking, easy/quick to set up (loved the 2 pole system), well ventilated (mesh top), spacious, and that would get the job done right and this tent does it! This tent is right in line with all the rest of Big Agnes products, so the quality is excellent. Compared to other tents in it's category, it was lighter and roomier. The two vestibules was also a bonus, we use one for wet gear, and the other for our dog. This tent is the bees knees. Get it.
