Well-made, stretchy softshellGood quality fabric. Water beads on surface though not a true waterproof shell. Grid fleece lining bonded to inside. Spacious pockets. Smooth zippers. Stretch material allows hood to fit over a ski-helmet well enough for a lift ride (somewhat tightly). Hood also covers face well (up to nose). Could be considered a “heavy, breathable shell”. Warm/dry enough for a brisk 15-minute hike today in 38 degrees, strong wind/mixed precip over a dress shirt. Plan to use for a cold-weather (sub-zero or windy) x-c ski shell or nicer weather downhill ski days. More expensive than Patagonia Adze, but longer and less bulky; cheaper than Salomon Lab mountaineering softshell. Only comes in 2-tone blue—but is nice-looking. The little Birkebeiner motif is cute. See, Norway produces more than just lutefisk! (Medium fit well for me--32" waist/38" chest). A good, solid jacket overall.
