Good plain and better mixed with other food!I've used several different dehydrated egg brands and have found Backpacker's Pantry to be right on par with the rest of them. As usual, the eggs end up a little runny, but they taste great. If your not a huge egg fan you can do a few things to spice it up... either wait until you are well into your trip (hunger makes the best spice!) or you can google "freezerbag meals" for some great suggestions on how to use dehydrated eggs in some simple yet delicious breakfast ideas.

Always a stapleSo these arent quite like "real eggs." They do make a great breakfast. A great fuel of protein in a quick package. I never camp without them. I like to put them in tortillas, mix them with some spicy sauce from dinner the night before or add a can of corned beef hash to make the eggs a much more substantial breakfast.

Great fuel to start a long hikeAdding these to a tortilla and a can of meat might not taste the best, but it gives you a high energy meal to take on miles and miles of trail. One package has 480 calories and 38g of protein alone. An important piece of information that isn't mentioned is that a frying pan is required to cook these up.

SOLID.I packed these eggs for a trip to the Boundary Waters and they were glorious. However, I would recommend sticking to regular scrambled eggs, rather than the pre-packaged huevos rancheros; it looked like pizza barf, and didn't taste that great.
