"good and solid, what you want when you need it" 04/08/13

good product, light but solid at the same time, assembles quick as and has depth measurements, no issues with this equipment!

"This is a fine probe." 07/02/11

During avy training almost all the guides use the BD probe simply because they prefer the locking mechanism on the BD's over BCA quick release side button style.In a real situation I have to agree that its less about how easy it is to disassemble rather than its important that it stay locked during use. But I have confidence that both would. There is added security if you lock down the tension line to the shaft. six and one half dozen. With the BCA it takes a few "clicks" until you see the stopper show up at the end of the pole. As a side note: probes can be useful for hanging bear bags and as an emergency A-frame pole material in alpine environments...
