Reactive-Trac: Atlas' innovative ReactiV-Trac construction integrates the classic flex of an elliptically-formed nose with the perimeter aft traction of a serrated T-frame
The snowshoes' stout SLS straps flex the system's tubular nose allowing the binding, crampon, and frame to conform and articulate independently with the terrain, providing unparalleled performance and the most confident footing available
Spring-Loaded Suspension: SLS keeps the snowshoe close underfoot for easy maneuvering and suspends your foot so it can move freely with its intended articulation
SLS enhances traction control, as the flex provides deeper crampon penetration into the slope, especially on steep or off-angle terrain
Packflat Bindings: Designed for backcountry snowboarding and climbing, the new PackFlat binding features quick-lashing urethane straps that collapse flat and are fully field replaceable with the included BC Utility Strap
Atlas BC Utility Strap: Included with all Atlas Backcountry Adventure snowshoes the BC Utility Strap can be used to secure your snowshoes to your pack, lash together other gear, or carry as a backup strap for the field-replaceable PackFlat binding or any other emergency situation
Infinity Decking: We integrated the deck below and fully inside the frame with a unique construction that eliminates frame wrap, protects the deck from abrasion, and optimizes available surface area in a sleek, seamless design

So with all the craziness of the polar vortex these have been great for running around the park with my dog or just at this point getting to the back of my yard without going a few feet into the snow. I actually thought they would be hard to use but snow shoeing is actually pretty easy. Getting them on and off is a little challenging but overall not to bad. I've also not found the need to take them on and off but I'm sure on a long or multi day hike getting them on and off would be pretty important.
My experience with snowshoes includes climbing in the Adirondacks and hiking around snowy upper Midwest winters. These snowshoes have everything I look for in snowshoes. The Atlas Aspects are fairly lightweight and are narrow enough to not be awkward to walk in. The binding system is unique and I'm very happy with it. Cinching the binding is a easy enough to do quickly with mittens on. The system is spring loaded, so that the tail of the snowshoe is always pushed down. I was skeptical of this at first, but came to appreciate it.These have features meant for backcountry snowshoeing over challenging terrain: the bottom of the frame is narrow and serrated for gripping packed snow or ice, and the heel stand really saves the calves when climbing inclines. My one complaint is that the hole in the platform for the toes is a little narrow. I have to be very deliberate about foot placement while binding, otherwise my toe scrapes against the platform.
