My friend, who happens to be a fairly reputable duck, told me these boots have great support, that they're waterproof and breathable and all the mallards in the pond have been whipping 'em at the fountain.
The Women's Stynger GTX Hiking Boot by Asolo is a rugged yet hi-tech Gore-Tex lined Suede and Cordura light hiking and trekking boot. The Stynger GTX features Asolo's Duo AsoFlex technology and Energy Outsole. Duo Asoflex is the synthesis of Asolo's research; two elements are melted together to improve comfort and performance. The first element, constructed of a stiff material benefits anti-pronation, anti-supination and anti-torsion. The second element, constructed with a softer material offers shock absorption while walking.

"Excellent backpacking boot for wet, rocky and rough terrain!" 06/24/11
On their first outing, the Asolo Stynger boots stayed dry after multiple river crossings, sloshing through miles of marshy fields and being completely immersed in water 1” below the top of the shoe. The shoes are stiff/strong enough to kick into coarse, gravelly rocks on slopes w/o causing foot injuries/discomfort, the lacing system stays put without slipping, the sole offered very secure grip, even on wet, odd-shaped rocks and are relatively lightweight. They run narrow in the toe, so if you wear ww get 1/2 a size up. They are pricey, but well worth the money since they last longer. I’ve gone through reputable brands in 3-5 trips and so far, the Asolos are holding up strong after 10+ trips.

"walking on water" 11/24/10
these boots have gotten me through so much and they are still in absolutely great shape. They are very durable, warm, and yet breathable for all hiking conditions. When i was deciding what hiking boots to get i was told that these are a great choice for backpacking due to their firm support and great arches for my feet. All true, the one tiney complaint that i have is when it is really sunny out the black toe protectors at the end of the boot heat up tremendously making my toes actually really hot at one point. Other than that minor detail these boots are fantastic in every way and will even get you safely though christmas in july if you see rain or shine then:)

I use these boots for everything! They're comfortable for trekking, hiking and even just casual walking. I saw a lot of boots before I decided to buy these and I can say I'm happy with what I choose.They keep my feet very warm and they're great when it comes to walking in water.I got them on sale, so I can say I'm very happy with the price, but the truth is that I would have got them also for the full price.

I bought these for my girl a few years ago so that she would like me. We are married now so it must have worked. These boots are very comfortable (I have the guys version). You can tromp through the wet mud for hours and stay dry. They are great for trails with a full pack, but also just as nice when your just cruising around town. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for a great all-around boot!

I got these boots last year to go backpacking in Europe and I fell in love. I was a little afraid because I didn't have a lot of time to break them in before i left but it was no problem at all. They never gave me one blister or anything! They are awesome if they get a little wet, you don't need to change your socks every two hours! Love them!!!!

after and exhaustive search I finally found these boots which I am very happy with. They are a little warm but they provide excellent grip even when on slippery wet rocks. The Gore Tex ensured that my feet were always dry. Also no break in time!

Got these for my Fiancee, I have fugatives. Great boots if your foot runs on the narrow side. Breath well, totally waterp up to the cuff. We have found the traction excellent even creek hiking on slick rocks. Midsole heavy enough to protect foot from irregularities off trail. Get super feet OEM liner is useless. Excellent for summer packing. No break in for either of us, pack out of the box. Excellent asolo quality.

Excellent for summer packing, not as durable as a full grain boot but then again your not swimming in your own sweat in these. No break in for either of us, pack out of the box. Excellent asolo quality.
