The Women's Stynger GTX Hiking Boot by Asolo is a rugged yet hi-tech Gore-Tex lined Suede and Cordura light hiking and trekking boot. The Stynger GTX features Asolo's Duo AsoFlex technology and Energy Outsole. Duo Asoflex is the synthesis of Asolo's research; two elements are melted together to improve comfort and performance. The first element, constructed of a stiff material benefits anti-pronation, anti-supination and anti-torsion. The second element, constructed with a softer material offers shock absorption while walking.

"Rugged Hiking boot? LMAO" 		          01/21/10
Not 6 months after purchase the toe seperated from the sole of the boot and I had to tack it back down with Gorilla Glue...for the expense of these boots..they are NOT rugged or for everyday wear and tear..maybe for the occasional hiker..or city girl on a weekend trek. Not long after the first boot seperated the other did as well. The gorilla glue is still holding up..They are a good looking boot, and comfortable, and I like the traction they provide..but what a disapointment in durability! Has totally turned me off the brand!

Had to return these dandies. Attractive from a distance but not the fit I desired. A friend touted their virtues but turns out our feet are not soul mates. A little longer and leaner than I expected from a size 8. I will continue my hunt for the perfect hiking book with Moosejaw as my guide.

"Great women's boot" 		          11/21/09
These are great. My wife wanted them because they are "cute", but I wanted to make sure she had a tough and comfortable boot to reduce on the trail "venting". This is what we ended up with. I begged and pleaded, but she didn't wear them once to break them in before we left on a 3-day hike in the smokies. Even then, she still didn't have any blisters, feet ailments, etc...Great boot.

"Great boots, great support!" 		          09/07/09
I have to admit I had my qualms when it came to buying a pair of hiking boots, especially for a four day trip. My feet get sore very easily and blister even easier. I first bought a pair of Vasque Breeze boots, but ended up returning them after they hurt my ankles and made my pinky toes start to blister after a few hours of trying to break them. I settled on the Stynger, because I heard the brand was one of the best. Over the course of forty miles, I did not get one blister. Not to mention the ankle support prevented several ankle rolls from turning into bad sprained ankles when walking over tricky tree roots and rock shelves. Make the investment and get these boots if you need a pair!

Sylie-Profiley! Too many compliments to mention, which is nice, but these boots have some serious bark. They also have a terrific bite! My very wide feet were nicely accommodated by buying a half size larger. No break-in required- these lightweight hikers are ready to go. From the Annapurna range to Pictured Rocks...I continue to be a loyal Asolo fan.

"best boots I've ever owned" 		          11/08/08
I bought these boots after disappointments with many other brands. Picked them up before heading out for fieldwork and was impressed at the lack of break-in time. Fit my feet like a glove, didn't rub on the backs of my ankles like other boots had, stayed waterproof, and withstood 5 solid months of abuse. Sadly, they only stood up to my punishment for one season and part of the second, but I still think of them fondly. Goodness: fit really well, minimal break-in time, waterproof, tough, dried quickly, good amount of fabric/padding in ankle and tongue, stylish as all get out. Notsogoodness: those pesky round laces always coming undone, don't last quite as long as full leather boots

"The BEST BOOTS!" 		          11/01/08
I love these boots. They are the only hiking boots that have never given me blisters. Somehow they fit my crazy feet perfectly with enough room in the toe box but a nice narrow heel to keep my foot from slipping and rubbing. I have worn them hiking, snowshoeing, mountaineering, backpacking and timber cruising and they have held up beautifully. Way to go Asolo!

"Great boot" 		          09/30/08
After trying on a whole bunch (and I mean a WHOLE BUNCH) of hikers, the Stynger was the only one that actually made my feet feel at home. The heel is roomier than most other boots, which is great for me - I've got calcium buildups on my heels from playing years of hockey. Like other custy's have said, the break-in time in these boots is minimal. There are two downfalls to the Stynger: sizing is a little funky (half-size lower) AND the other bad thing: the Gore-Tex tends to make it a not-so-breathable boot; if sweaty feet are a concern, go for a non-waterproof version of a similar boot.

"Pretty much my favorite posession." 		          08/21/08
I purchased these boots last April 2008 right before beginning field work in the mountains of West Virginia... let me just say that they are 99.97% amazing. Not only were they comfortable from the very beginning and required very little break-in time dude... I never got blisters!, my feet were so stylish that they were the envy of all my crewmates. They have a wonderful firm sole, which makes them great for hiking on various types of terrain. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars 5 jaws? is because they are not waterproof, and walking through tall, wet grass left me with soggy feet pretty much every day. However, they did dry very quickly and at least I began each day with dry feet,

"GREAT SHOE!" 		          08/18/08
Due to poor planning, I needed to buy a pair of hiking boots one week before a camping trip. Thankfully, Moosejaw helped me locate the GTX - I was able to quickly break in these boots. They were lightweight enough to not bog me down during the hikes and were fancy enough that my friends raved about them. The only draw back is the tongue - it tends to pinch my foot a little and required a lot of readjusting.
