I used this boot for winter mixed routes on rock, snow and a little ice. Performed well out the box. Vibram sole grips like an alpine boot should. Lightweight. Height is above the ankle. Stiff mountaineering sole. There is a soft section at the ankle joint, which allows for extra flex forward while stepping. For mountaineering ankle support, I'd rate a 7 out of 10. Not super supportive like a plastic or heavy boot. These will allow you to position your feet and move up mixed terrain. Fit true to width. Hybrid/semiauto crampon compatible yet narrow enough to fit a traditional strap-on crampon. Not much insulation. Good spring or mild weather boot (20F - 65F). Completely waterproof/Gore-tex.
