Don't let other reviews fool you! These shoes rule! Comfy, super light weight, good grip and they look awesome. I bought my first pair a year ago when they first came out, I bought another pair soon after for when they wear out, and now the green pair. The reviews I read seem to be people that didn't know how to pick and choose proper equipment for what they're about to use them for ... not the shoes fault by any means! These shoes are great. See you on the Ice Age Trail.Paul, WI
Not for people with cankles or low self esteem. I would wear with heavy pack. Designed for people with good agility. No ankle support. Watch out for achilles area takes some breakin in before comfortable. I am not a badass but I am a real MOFO!
Designed for people with agilty. I would wear with heavy pack. Takes a few days to break in achilles heel area potential rubbing there. Not for people with bad cankles/ankles. I am not a bad ass but I am a MOFO!
"Excellent approach shoe for people with agiliy and athleticism."

It rubbed my achilles at the low point in the back of the boot where the pull chord is. It took a couple of days to break in. Once broken in these are the lightest most comfortable approach boot I own. After studying them I have realize that they were designed for those with good agility. People with weakness in their cankles/ankles or with feeble agility need not this boot. I would wear them with a heavy pack because I actually have agility, accurate foot placement, and realize my athletic potential. This boot is great for lighter people with a need for a high degree mobility. I am not a Bad Ass. I am definatly a MOFO!
"Floppy sole and very lightweight, not good for hiking for most people."

If your feet need zero support, you're carrying nothing on your back, and are not on rocky trails, these could work. These are like a Merrell Moab with a thin leather upper. They're lightweight but extremely floppy. If you grip the heel, you can easily twist the forefoot along the shoe's long axis. The forefoot also easily folds back over itself. Those wanting heel protection from rock strikes are out of luck: the leather is still super thin over the heel, so it can only prevent scrapes. The US version is not GoreTex lined, which is a plus for hot weather use.Contrast these with La Sportiva trail runners, which have a very stiff sole, are about the same weight, and are cheaper.
"Feather light & functional in stylish suede"

I was looking for something a little different as an alternate to my Asolo Fugitives. I found it! The style is simple yet modern with some classic hiking traits, I was suprised by how light the pair are, as weight was not a consideration when shopping. The sueded upper will only look and feel better as they break in. We will be long time friends...despite the beatings I'll give them.
