Rated 4 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT BOOT FOR COMFORT..wear everyday, but sole fell apart..and replacement pair too expensive I love Asolo Boots...been wearing them for about 10 years now...and they fit very comfortably right out of the box...literally wear them everyday for work, and pleasure...but the last two pairs of these that I bought the sole falls away from the boot after about 1.5 years...otherwise they would still be going strong...I guess I shouldn't complain based on my wearing them every day...I do get my money out of them...but now they are priced well into the mid 250's....too expensive....I am shopping for another brand..I hate to give up on Asolo but they have priced themselves out of the market...I'll try another brand for $150 and test my luck...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HAD THESE BOOTS JUST SHY OF 4 YEARS.........AWESOME!!!! I have had these boots for 4 years now. The sole is finaly giving way; but keep in mind I am in construction and wear these as my work boots every day, as well they are my hiking boots. They have been a lot of places and taken me hundreds of miles without fault or blisters. Break in is very easy on these boots and wear even better. They are very supportive and fit like a glove. The eyelets are supurb and the leather is as tough as nails. Sending them off to get re-soled and hoping they go another four years. All and all I highly recomend these boots to anyone; they are well worth the price you pay. In this case, "you get what you pay for"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great hiking boots I've been looking for a lighter pair of hiking boots for some time now, and these Asolo have turned out to be the perfect choice. I've been wearing a pair of Lowa Alpine Guide boots that are just a tad too tight in the toe, and heavy for casual day hikes in the local forest. The boot has plenty of quality features that Asolo is known for, and the attention to detail is spot on. The outsole is quite rigid and adds a lot of stability on uneven terrain. Because the outsole is so rigid, you should take the time to break the boots in before a long hike, especially in the hills. From this point forward, Asolo is my boot of choice for the great outdoors.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Nice Boot!!! I bought this boot mainly for Hiking/Ridgewalking while looking for new caves. The fit of the boot is perfect and very comfortable, didn't even have to think about trying on other boots. Depending on what you do, leather my wear faster. I've done a bit of caving and toes are all cut up, don't advise for a climbing boot. The boot has good ankle support and virtually no break in period. Could use round laces as opposed to the flat ones it comes with. The soles have amazing grip on most surfaces! The entire boot is very easy to clean off incase you've been out in mud. All around I am very pleased with this boot and HIGHLY recommend it, well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built like a tank, feels like a mink coat If there is only one piece of gear I could save from a fire, it would be by Asolo boots. I have hiked hundreds of miles in these boots, and they are built to last. They have stood up to an entire summer doing survey work on Mt. St. Helens with sharp volcanic rocks everywhere. They are also completely water proof, and keep my feet dry in situations where my friends' feet have been soaked. They fit very comfortably, and I rarely even get warm spots when I wear them, let alone blisters. They provide a lot of support and protection, and are especially sturdy around the ankles. They are a little expensive, but this is one investment that is worth making.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zero blister, die hard! I got my ASOLO 520 GTX boots in the summer of 2001. I've put at least 1000 miles on them, and yes, the sole is more worn than the leather. Easily the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I've climbed 5 14ers in CO with them, taken them through about 40 miles of the grand canyon, and even took them up the river hike in Zion. I've replaced the laces twice, changed the inserts and they are still completely water proof(my feet did get wet on the Zion hike, but that was in four feet of water). They were the editor's choice in backpacker magazine when i got them in 2001 and they will definitely be my next boot. My guess is in another two years, because I over-pronate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My girlfriend hates them because I wear them everywhere... even to black tie events. In short, these boots rock. I've had mine for a while now and they are comfortable, dry, and relatively light... compared with my old boots (Meindl) The sizing is spot-on, whatever size shoes you wear regularly, get the same size in these. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review is due to the price, they are a little on the expensive end. However, I think they are definitely worth it if you want to spend the money. Also, they look way better than most boots, which helps me pick up chicks... ok, so that last part was BS but you should still buy these if you are looking for a great pair of trekking boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't get any better than these! My first outing in these boots was in rugged Tasmania a couple of weeks ago and boy was I impressed! Was told to wear them in before the 80km hike but only managed a few short walks. They fit like a glove from day 1, no hotspots whatsoever. I didn't think I had worn them in enough as they were always comfortable, I was sure I would be in a world of pain after the first day. Well after 7hrs of uphill, rocky terrain my feet felt great. Very stable across all surfaces and great support. Best of all was seeing others awkwardly side stepping mud and puddles (and still getting wet feet) but I just walked straight through with perfectly dry feet...damn these boots are awesome!
