First thing, they are truly waterproof. A couple weeks back I hear my buddy's voice over my shoulder, "Are your feet dry?". "Yeah man", I say after stepping in a 4" deep pool of water that had been covered by snow, leaves, and ice. Comfy out of the box, I've done hikes from 5 to 13 miles in these and been impressed each time. My only issue is there's no insulation to keep my feet warm, but I've found a good pair of wool socks solves that issue. Overall I'd recommend these boots happily.
I'm planning to section hike the Applachian trail and had originally set myself on the Asolo Fugitive. The Fugitive is an excellent boot, and priced accordingly. Although the Synchro is more economically priced, it has many of the same features as the Fugitive. The Synchro is more of a warm weather boot and being from Texas, will also work nicely in Big Bend.I also work in Saudi and this boot is suitable for the mud shale terrain in the middle of the Kingdom. The initial fit is perfect and I got a 1/2 size larger than my regular shoe size. I also replaced the stock insoles for an insole with a heel strike pad.
Recently purchased this boot as an extra pair. I have been wearing it daily and love it. ASLO boots have always fit me perfectly. Virtually no break in time and the comfort is awesome. No sore spots, no hot spots, nothing, just comfort. I wear my boots daily and I wear them hard, I have a bad back and crappy knees, so solid support is a must. These boots provide the support I need....physically, not emotionally. But then again, they do make me feel good so they may just be the therapy I need!!!!!
This is a fantastic boot. Needed a new boot for a 100+ mile trek in New Mexico over rock to cattle path, to a summit attempt. This boot handled it and I had no blisters. I got the boots a week before we departed because I was a last minute addition and they performed great. When they say they breathe they do, which means in the winter and snow, beware. They get cold fast. For me the fit was pretty good but not perfect as they got broken in. The footbed feels a little shallow and I like a more pronounce arch and my foot is starting to hit the front of the boot more frequently. A couple of nasty pressure points if you lace them wrong, but all in all a great boot and one I would recommend.
I bought these boots after having a pair of Vasque Breeze for 2 years, in which they completly fell apart. I was a little ify about Asolo, heard that the soles tend to wearout fast. But, out of the box these boots look ten times better than the Vasque Breeze. They felt as if they will need some breaking in though, no biggy. All and all, I think these boots are going to be great. Looking forward to a backpacking trip in the Rockies this summer.
