I wear boots everyday all day. Because of that I buy really nice boots. Which equals big money and for that money i expect a lot mostly durability and comfort.I have been wearing these boots for about a year now and other than dirt and stains they look perfect. The stitching and workmanship are superb. These boots have taken a sever beating and still have a lot of life in them. The soles on these are going to wear flat before the boot falls apart. Now as far as comfort goes these are pretty good. Not the best I have had but not bad either. I can wear these all day no problem but for the price I personally expect a little more. They are a little flat footed for me and the side contour feels a little sloppy when I need precision foot work. My last boots were Zamberland Step GT's and the footwell in those was perfect. All that said this is a solid boot that I do not regret trying but in the future I will move back to the Zamberlands.
I took a while to write this review because I wanted to make sure I provided an honest critique of this product. They are a tool that should provide the user many hours of outdoor enjoyment while providing protection and comfort. I think that these boots will do just that but at some cost to the user. First they are not inexpensive boots, handmade in Europe, Romania as a matter of fact. the materials and workmanship appear to be quite good. I did however find the sole insert to be little more than a piece of stamped cardboard. The system of attaching the sole to the boot appears to be a little suspect also. I have notice just the slightest separation around the edges and am concerned about failure over time. The rand and lasting board are very sturdy. You are going to need some miles (50 or more) to develop any kind of flexibility in the lasting board. Very good performance over the sharp stuff, scree and talus are no problem. You will barely notice sharp objects underfoot. OK shoe.
Traveled the camino de Santiago in Spain. Wonderful support for rough terrain, and supportive for urban settings. Would have seriously injured my ankles without them. Walked 12-20 miles a day with 20 lb pack. Love the boots!
I not only wear this boot for hiking, but EVERY DAY ALL DAY LONG!!!! I have a bad back and bad knees and need a solid boot with great support. This boot fits the bill. I can wear it all day long and my feet still feel great when I take them off. Rugged, dependable, and orange...what more could a guy ask for!
