Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stellar boot I have had this boot for a few years and it just keeps putting up with my torture. Two many miles to count in these without using sock liners & only one set of blisters on an extremely steep& muddy 17 mile trail day. Easy, short break-in period, some would say no break-in. It isn't stiff enough for crampon use, but this isn't your boot for that anyway. Holds up great to snow & water with feet always staying dry. The only catch has been the laces which wear quite a bit on the first set of lace hooks above the d-ring eyes. Asolo sent me an extra set of laces, but now I'm using Kevlar. The toe-box is generous & not cramped like comparable La Sportiva offerings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from they went the distance My fugitives just fell apart, but they gave me 6 good years! I'm writing this review as I prepare to replace this boot after it carried me over 1000 miles. Standing water was no issue as long as it wasn't over the top of the boot and same goes for mud and snow. The GoreTex liner keeps feet dry. The support was great I felt nimble enough to move quick with a heavy load yet supported enough to tackle rugged terrain. Overall I think this is a fantastic boot and I'm about to get another pair. (Full disclosure: although I purchased these boots I have been a part of the Gore MountainTech testing initiative in which I occasionally receive Gore-Tex products in exchange for participation.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic all-around lightweight boot! i took these boots out the day after i bought them last september to cascade pass and the sahale arm. as expected, it rained every day. but these things shed water well, and when they do get wet they dry quickly. break-in time is minimal. they performed very well on a r^3 (rim-to-rim-to-rim) trek in the grand canyon over christmas break. heck, i even used them while bouldering at red rocks afterwards - they are some sticky sons of bitches! seriously, these things will handle many different kinds of conditions. i am planning to upgrade the insoles to superfeet greens, though. i think that's the only thing that asolo needs to improve on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My "Go To" boots! I've been wearing this boot almost daily for the past two years. Although this is more of a light hiker, I've worn them with some pretty intense loads on some pretty intense trails/hikes. They've had several trips to Red River Gorge in KY, the White Mountains of NH and numerous trips to various local trails. Even after the abuse I've put them through, the tread is still not very worn down. The upper is rigid in the right spots and stay tied securely. They break in pretty fast and are a comfortable every-day boot. If you're looking for a durable and comfortable light hiking boot, look no further. I also wear the Asolo TPS for heavy duty stuff. Thanks for some great boots Asolo

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy these award winners! These are a great boot! I bought pairs of these for both my wife and I because couples who match are cool, right? Well I did anyway because these boots are awesome! I've hiked in these for long periods of time, in various conditions, and my feet have always been dry and happy. I've seen a few complaints about these being slippery and to those I say that these are kind of like a 4-wheel drive truck: they are great in the snow but they aren't really going to help you on ice. So if you are looking for an awesome all around boot that is comfortable, rugged, and will keep you dry, I highly recommend these! Get a pair for your girl too...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Shoot are These Bad Boys Amazing!! It was recently rumored that Sasquatch himself forged these boots in Mordor while everyone else was bickering about some ring. One boot to rule them all. These babies are comfortable, light, and INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!!,,,,Seriously, when December 21, 2012 hits, I'll be wearing the Asolo Fugitive. Not even the Mayans could have predicted how bombproof these boots are. I could walk be dropped into the middle of Lake Michigan and my feet would still be as dry as the Sahara.,,,,The only problem I'm having is that I keep throwing my money at my computer screen every time I see the boots on the website. Sadly, no matter how much money I throw, they don't come out of the computer :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won’t be disappointed Lightweight yet stable, waterproof, virtually no break in period, and darn good looking. The only gripe I could come up with is that on a recent trek a friend of mine had a pair of boots with Vibram soles that took the icy/snowy patches we encountered better than my Asolos. No noticeable difference on non-icy terrain but it nevertheless led me to believe his Vibram soles had better traction all around. Despite the traction difference, I’ll still be getting another pair when my eventually wear out, and all in all I think you really can’t go wrong with this boot. Also, my feet are on the more narrow side of average and these things fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sturdy Boots These boots are sick. I got them a few weeks ago and love them. They are super comfortable and seem to have zero break-in period. The sole is super-sturdy which is awesome. I wear them to climb trees and I couldn't be happier. They provide excellent ankle support while still allowing a lot of mobility. Possibly the coolest feature is the first set of lace hooks, which don't allow the laces to slip at all, you can tighten the bottom portion of the shoe bring the laces into those hooks let go of them and the bottom stays tight. Way cool. I bet these would be the best hiking boots, if and when I decide to hike in them; but for now, they serve me well in the trees.
