The Base Camp GV by Asolo's inner boot, shell and external gaiter are assembled together to offer maximum light weight, insulation and a great fit. The double internal lacing, the waterproof external zipper, the avant-garde materials and technical components utilized, offer maximum guarantee for extreme use. Light weight, breathability and comfort are three of the main features of this new inner boot. Thanks to the particular lacing system and the optimal fit, the foot is always comfortable. Though the boots were technically out of warranty, I am happy to let everyone know that Asolo replaced both boots for free due to the zipper breaking. I still have the same concerns about the zipper, but Asolo customer service was perfect and I love the boots!

Super-warm and extremely comfortable boot for technical cold weather climbing (rock, ice or snow). They climb rock extremely well - partially owed to the climbing patch on the front instep of the sole. Not as bulky as they appear. They even work at the rock gym. The only “potential” problems are: (1) the top of the zipper on the built-in gaiter just broke after not much use. Still waiting to hear about ability to repair - which is necessary for the boot. (2) the gaiter shows signs of wear (but no damage) from rubbing against the other foot and/or rock. Hopefully this will not be a problem. Bottom line - awesome boot, but long-term wear and tear has yet to be determined.
