This top is great for cold days skiing, hiking, walking the dogs, or whatever and a great single layer for cool fall or spring days spent outside. Drawbacks: It is 100% wool and calls for special "Wool detergent," and when accidently washed with regular detergent, it shrunk a bit. Also, I am one of those people who can NOT stand scratchy wool on my bare skin. Even though this particular wool is pretty soft, I couldn't wait to get it off after a day- the subtle scratchiness was driving me nuts! Overall it looks great and is flattering, lightweight, and well-constructed. However, the scratchiness, extra laundry care involved, and expense detract from my rating.
I don't usually have enough money to spend on Arcteryx, but when things are on sale I scope them out... and this top was a GREAT buy. Very warm for such thin fabric and nicely tight-fitting to keep more body heat!
These shirts are so form fitting, very comfortable. I own one in every color. I really enjoy all Arcteryx long sleeve shirts they are very form fitting and nice trim waist cut. I am 37-27-36 and shirts are never tight enough in the waist, but these fit me very well. I wear a medium and am 5'4" 135lbs.
This is one of Arcteryx's best products (that I own, anyway). I wear it boarding, climbing, casually, and backpacking. It was great for backpacking - light and compressible - and the odor was, as the specs state, minimal. It also dries quickly and is pretty warm for a baselayer. The stretch is amazing and it hasn't shrunk, either. The only thing I'd forewarn you about is the material. It's merino wool, so it's supposed to be less itchy than regular wool, which it is, but it still bothers me a bit. If you're not familiar with the material, check it out beforehand. Besides that, p-e-r-f-e-c-t.
This tops wears great, holds shape and wraps you in soft warm merino wool which doesn't itch and looks great. I prefer Arcteryx merino products to Icebreaker because Icebreaker seems to stretch and loose shape after a while.
Unfortunately I did not recieve this item with my original order, and no explanation was given, so I ordered it elsewhere and ended up cancelling this order when I found out it was going to be later than when the person I was giving to was leaving. I had ordered a 2 day shipment.
