The Arc'teryx Women's Beta SL Jacket is an emergency rain jacket for hiking and backpacking. If you're going for a hike and the weather is unstable, or looking to lighten your load, the Beta SL is up to the challenge. The SL stands for super lightweight, to provide you with protection in unexpected rain or snow. The jacket packs down nice and small, taking up less space in your pack until you need it. The Gore-Tex PacLite sheds the wet stuff and blocks wind as well. A durable water repellent finish allows water to bead up on the surface and roll off, without soaking in. The trim fit prevents fabric from flapping in the breeze and pockets are set high, staying out of the way of your hipbelt while remaining usable. Tuck a trail snack into your pocket and rack up the miles.

GORE-TEX Paclite, GORE-TEX
GORE-TEX Paclite is the gold standard for lightweight, breathable elemental protection. Paclite jackets are extremely packable and great to have on hand for windy or rainy conditions. It's like wearing an umbrella, but probably 25x more comfortable. Plus you won't get questions like, "Are you wearing an umbrella?" or, "Why are you wearing an umbrella?"
If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.

ARC'TERYX MEASUREMENT and FIT GUIDE
HOW to MEASURE:
Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.
Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.
Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.
Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent postion, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.
Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.
Dress Length - Measuring the front of the garment from the neckline at shoulder to the hem edge.
Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.
Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.
Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.
FIT TYPE INFO and DETAILS:
Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.
Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.
Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.
Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.
Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.
• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Love this lightweight waterproof jacket. This jacket is perfect for those maybe it will rain, maybe it won't days. When I throw it in my pack, it takes up next to nothing for space, but if it starts to rain, the jacket provides full blown protection from rain and wind. The jacket has a very simple, clean line. The fabric is nice and soft and light. The hood provides good protection and is adjustable. The velcro sleeve adjustment is a nice touch. The Gore-tex packlite fabric does a good job handling rain and is nicely breatheable. There are no pit zips on this jacket. Overall, this is my go to jacket for unpredictable weather. I belong to a group called mountaintechs. I get to test outdoor clothing through this program.

I gave it as a giftI got this jacket as a gift for my Wife, who was in desperate need of a new shell and kept running into fit issues. She put this one on and it fit like a glove! No weird zipper bulk in the front that gives the weird uni-boob look. The drop-hem is a nice touch to help protect on the wetter days without being too long. And it actually fit through the torso and sleeve length- everything else from Patagonia was fitting her short. The material on the shell is nice as well, not super stiff but definitely bombproof and ready to protect against the wind and precip. Zipper works smoothly, doesn't get stuck. She wears a Medium in most tops and a Medium in this jacket fits nice with enough room for a couple of layers.
Another top notch product from ArcTeryx!

It does what it's supposed to do, very wellI bought this jacket for my girlfriend for a backpacking trip to Olympic national park, which is known for its unpredictable rain. It worked very well for what it's meant, protecting her against the rain and some wind. Thanks to the packability, she's been carrying it for all hiking trips now. The fit was great too. I'd definitely recommend it, it does the arcteryx thing.

Worth the outrageous price! So, it's crazy expensive...but you know what they say: you get what you pay for. Practically hydrophobic- I wore this trekking through rice terraces in China in practically torrential downpours and stayed dry. I live in Shanghai and we're currently experiencing our rainy season. I wear this to the market and out around town and it's stylish enough that you'd have no idea that it was so technical. Stuffs up tiny in my pack/suitcase, too. Great buy, if you can talk yourself into the price tag.

MY FIRST, BEST RAIN JACKETTHIS was my first ever Arc'teryx product and it will always be my favorite. It's a super lightweight completely waterproof jacket that I don't suffer for wearing when it's summer and rainy here in south Texas. And I wear it ALL THE TIME, even did today. It's fitted and flattering alone, BUT I've been able to layer it on top of AND underneath other jackets when I've been outside training in the cold and rain (it's not training if it's not raining). I am a firearms student and I've never had ANY issue with the underarms being restrictive to my movements, so it's my FAVORITE GO TO jacket for rain, though I do have others. I love the way you can adjust the hood so it doesn't hang down in your face and the way the sleeves can be tightened down so rain doesn't get in and they don't interfere with what I'm doing with my hands.

Wonderful, packable, durable jacketThis jacket came in just in time for monsoon season where I was guiding this summer. Instead of just surviving I was singing in the rain! The Beta SL Jacket is packable and light, so I never hesitate to throw it in a day pack, but also durable and totally reliable. Water beads up on this shell, yet it still breathes well enough to hike in it for hours. And to top it all of, it looks sharp. It is well cut for women and I love wearing it in public!

Fashionable jacket for most conditionsI have got Arcteryx Beta SL Men few years ago and now buy a women version for my wife. I am owning 2 more version of Arcteryx goretex jacket for different usage.
Arcteryx jackets are always having stylish design, and this 'Beta' product line would be even closer to fashion purpose. Beta SL is soft, lightweight, breathable that can be used for most outdoor activity such as running, hiking. Wind insulation and waterproof is also excellent to handle rainy and humid day.
A recommendation for purchasing this jacket is, you consider it for daily purpose. Don't forget there is a trade-off between 'Lightweight' and Durability (Actually, Beta SL stand for Super Light). It is very durability for normal use, except extremely condition such as skiing, heavy rain activity, snow hiking. This jacket would still protect you nicely for those conditions, but please don't expect too much on it. Otherwise, you must be looking for the one with Goretex Pro fabrics, that is my experience for this jacket.
