ARC'TERYX MEASUREMENT and FIT GUIDE
HOW to MEASURE:
Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.
Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.
Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.
Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent postion, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.
Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.
Dress Length - Measuring the front of the garment from the neckline at shoulder to the hem edge.
Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.
Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.
Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.
FIT TYPE INFO and DETAILS:
Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.
Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.
Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.
Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.
Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.
• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

This jacket is the best waterproof coat on the market.Keep wearing your helmet! The hood on this jacket works extremely well. You can adjust the fit of the hood very easily with one hand. The two side pull and the back pull hood adjusters provide a perfect fit. The rain just slides right off the jacket even after numerous washings and two years of use. One day, after 8 hours of working all day in a deluge of rain on the mountain, I noticed the front zipper area leaked through near the neck. However, the jacket held up better than all the other bomb-proof, rain-proof jackets other people were wearing. I wear this jacket around town, too. It's a one quiver conquer coat! You will love it.

Fit guide was spot on...Followed the online fit guide and the recommendation was a perfect fit. If you want to add heavier or bulkier layers, you may want to order a size up. I am short (5' tall), so the hip length is perfect! Color of the logo stitching changes from year to year. For the specific item I purchased, I thought it was white. I asked customer service if this jacket was different than another BETA AR in Black (different item number)...was told no. It arrived with a very pale, ice blue, logo. Not thrilled about that, but LOVE the other features of the jacket too much to send it back and be cold again.

Great waterproof hard shellThis shell will 100% keep you dry while out in wet weather. The only reason I did not give it "5 stars" is because it could be a little longer in length. I have been wearing a Patagonia fleece vest beneath it for extra warmth, and from time to time the bottom of the fleece will peak out beneath the coat. I plan on wearing it skiing this winter, with my Arc'teryx Atom coat has a soft shell/base layer for warmth. As the coat does keep you dry, it hasn't proved to keep me extremely warm in windy conditions. I am 5'2", 100lbs and ordered an XS.

Bomber waterproof shell. Great for everything from epic winter adventures to shoveling the driveway! This shell is ridiculously waterproof and has decent breathability- though the pit zips are crucial for high output and aerobic activity like skinning up slopes. The high pockets take a bit of time to get used to but they are great when wearing a harness since you still have easy access to them. It is super light so I never feel bad throwing it in my pack. The hood design is a little funky and can seem too big when not wearing a helmet but after messing with it a bit I've got it working pretty well for me. Great all around shell!

Great coatI've had this for a year now and it has seen me through all four seasons. Fantastic performance in all conditions, totally water resistant and wind proof. Breathability is great. The only thing robbing it of the fifth start is that the integral hood is a bit too generously shaped and has no obvious may of pulling it in or tensioning so it falls about. It would be even better therefor if this hood was detachable (not that it is any problem down in dry conditions) and especially if there was cord adjustment to tighten it up in use.

Fantastic for everyday to skiing the slopesJust bought this jacket in a local store (they were sold out of the size/color combo I wanted online) and it is fantastic! I have used it a couple times in the rain just walking around campus. The fit and cut are perfect, I do wish the pockets were a little lower but its not a deal breaker. Based on friends that have this jacket they love it as a shell for spring skiing and I plan on testing it out for that later in the year. All around a great jacket, even at the high price, try to snag one while its on-sale!

I have never gotten wet wearing this shell.I bought this jacket over a year ago. I live in Southeast Alaska which is some of the rainiest conditions in the country. Averaging almost 200 inches a year where I live. In Southeast we are very particular about our rain-gear since no one carries umbrellas. (It is too windy and inly tourists do that) This is my most reliable rain jacket that I bring out on the wettest of days. I have to stand on a boat dock and wait for a boat to pick me up from work since I work on an island and have always felt confident that I will stay dry in this one. A very good purchase. I have also used this as a shell for when I go skiing sometimes and it works great for that as well. I bought a medium and it seems to run slightly big but It just leaves me room for layering which is nice. A good buy, indeed.

Great jacket!I have bought both Beta AR jacket and pants and fell in love with Arcteryx! They have really high quality products. Gore-tex membran works perfectly. Real protection from wind. I have tested it all in Patagonia/Tierra del Fuego weather. 2 pockets in each side are great size, many things fit there (I used to carry gloves, sunglasses, wallet). I bought medium size and I think it fit very well (with room for other layers of fleece etc). (1,74m, 65kg).
