The Arc'teryx Spear 20 Pack is a roll top backpack for the bike commute to work and day hikes on the weekends. The combination of 420D nylon plain weave and 420D basket weave fabrics creates durability for the rigors of everyday use. While not waterproof, a durable water repellent treatment repels a light rain so your gear won't get completely soaked as you head back to shelter. The roll top is fast and simple, opening wide to stuff your gear and get it out just as quickly. A sleeve inside the main compartment secures a tablet or small laptop on the way to work, or a hydration bladder can be clipped in for quenching thirst on a hot day. The top pocket has a soft fleece lining for protection of small items like your phone or sunglasses. Attach any extras via the daisy chains along the front and sling the padded Spacermesh shoulder straps over your shoulders as you head out for the day.

ARC'TERYX MEASUREMENT GUIDE
How to Find Your Foot Measurements
Arc'teryx packs are sized either in 3-length options: Short (S), Regular (R) and Tall (T), or in 2-length options: Short/Regular (SR), and Regular/Tall (RT).
Sizing refers to YOUR OWN BACK LENGTH
Measure your Back:
• Measure along the spine between the 7th cervical vertebra and the level of the hip iliac crest
• Compare this measurement to the Sizing Charts
• It is possible to interchange different size shoulder strap and hipbelt components on many Arc'teryx Packs, but this will not change or affect the back-length of the pack.

Another Fantastic Arc'teryx Pack! This is my first rolltop styled pack, and I gotta say - I love it. Super simple, well thought out design; it opens up so wide, it's incredibly easy to get access into the main body of the pack. Plus it's got a side access zipper that allows you to get inside without needing to open the top; really convenient. The inside of the pack is lined with a bright orange color, which helps for being able to see what's inside the pack when you're trying to find something. This pack also has a nice removable back support stay thing, so if you want it, it's there; if not, you can take it out. Your choice. I like having choices - that's just me though. Anyways, yeah - I dig it, I'm stoked.

I use this pack everydayI can always find something to go in this pack. It goes from daypack to diaperbag and to bookbag on a constant basis. I have a miura 50 for big trips i love the roll top on both these bags its so much faster than a zipper and the shape of the bag lets you get to things at the bottom. The frame easily comes out making it eaiser to get in and out of the car and fits back if you need to go a good distance with it. Another great product from arcteryx,,

awesome packSpear20 has sufficient space for a day tour. I have no problem keeping my macbook pro 13" in it. The top pocket is kinda small as compared to silo18. I can't access the inside of the bag with the side zip, it is of a different compartment. I'm still figuring out how to remove the back support.

good backpack for one day casual trip. not big enoughI will recommend Spear 25 since there are water bottle holders outside. the spear 20 is a little bit small.,,the wide mouth RollTop opening/closure system is good but airport security check guys did not know how to open it (haha, they did not allow me to touch my package during the check)

Pretty goodStraps are the most comfortable of any daypack I have ever tried, and the rolltop is pretty good at keeping the innards dry in a brief shower. Wish the straps were a bit longer, but I am a bigger guy and most day packs have the same issue.
