"Good companion - and perfect for a tripod"  02/08/12

Got it a few months ago and took it on lots of day hiking tours - it's fantastic. I often misuse it by carrying my 30 lb camera gear in it - and attach the tripod to the back of the pack. Actually, it's the first hiking backpack I've ever had with which I can carry a tripod quite easily a whole day and not get shoulder- and backache. The material is also very sturdy, scratching along granite rocks didn't harm the material at all. It's worth the price.

"Highly recommended"  03/13/11

This pack is large enough to carry anything you would need in single day. There is a roll top pocket, and cavernous top pocket, and a large side opening pocket ideal for rain gear. There is an additional stretch pocket on the side for a water bottle or tools. The nylon material is extremely durable and sheds water with ease. The shoulder straps and hip belt all fit comfortably, adjust easily, and efficiently transfer load. The wrap system on the exterior is useful to carry all sorts of gear like skis, poles, ropes, and extra clothing. This pack is my first choice for skiing and hiking.

"Awesome pack!"  04/13/08

I finally got to use this pack for the first time this weekend on a trip up to Camp Muir on Mt. Rainier. It held my wide snowboard extremely well and also supported the weight well to the hip belt. I love the roll top entry. It also allows you to still access your pack when the snowboard is strapped on. The size seems perfect for a day trip when you want to have room for avalanche gear, clothes, food, and maybe a DSLR camera at least that's what I was carrying. The snowoboard straps on the pack also carried my snowshoes extremely well on the descent. I'm 6'4 and ordered the tall and it's almost too tall, but still works well. If you're shorter than 6'3, you'll probably want to get a Regular

"Worth every penny"  03/28/08

This pack had plenty of room to hold all my winter gear and then some. Crampons, snowshoes, ice ax poles, warm clothes my shells and even a nice pocket to hold my hot coco. Very easy to carry on your back and a great fit! Sheds water and snow like a hardshell. A great buy!

"Well worth your money"  02/26/08

I got this thing for Christmas and I haven't put it down since. It rules just as hard at school as it does on the mountain. Just what I expected from the Arc'teryx brand.
