The Men's S240 Harness by Arcteryx is impossibly thin, supple and lightweight, the high performance F-240s takes sport climbing to a new level. WST provides universal support to the waist belt, and the lightweight mesh leg loops deliver unprecedented breathability and support. Made with a unidirectional mesh that provides bridging support in one direction and complete flexibility in the other, these simple leg loops are equally as comfortable as those conventionally built, proving the limited effectiveness of foam padding.

"Very light and well constructed" 04/16/11
After reading reviews I decided to purchase the Arcteryx S240. As others have said this harness is extremely lightweight. I could not believe how light this was compared to other harnesses I had tried. So far I have found it to be very comfortable to wear while climbing and in between climbs. My biggest complaint is the lack of chalk bag loop. If you carry a chalk bag make sure you have a separate belt for it because this harness doesn't have anywhere to attach one. The only other issue I have had is that the leg loops get twisted up easily. It's not a big deal really but I end up spending time untwisting everything whenever I go climbing.
"Only way to go with a harness for lead climbing." 03/09/11
This is the greatest harness I've ever owned or tried for that matter. Its incredibly light weight and doesn't sacrifice much comfort. The only bone I have to pick is when sitting in it for long periods of time it can get a little uncomfortable but the falls themselves and belaying are no problems. I was also concerned with it only having 2 gear loops and how well the quick draws would fit but it holds my 14 draws fine with more space should I need it. All in all I don't think there's a better harness for leading if your looking for lightweight and performance.
"bummer about the leg sizing" 09/29/10
First let me say I love arcteryx gear.So I ordered this almost a year ago, and had to return it imediately as though the waist size was perfect, the legs were too small. (I ride my bike weekly, but dont have huge thighs)Anyway, I exchanged for a x350a and after a year of hard wear its still taking whippers.Hard to beat Arcteryx construction, just kind of a bummer about the sizing.
"The most comfortable harness I have owened." 09/27/10
This harness is perfect. It is unbelievably lightweight and while I am wearing it I don't even know it is there. The S240 packs smaller than any other harness I own making it my go-to for fast paced one day assaults. The magic that Arcteryx used in the construction of this harness allows me to hang in it all day without any rubbing, and no pressure points. The only downside I have encountered in this harness over the past year is that there are only two gear loops. The loops are big enough to carry my gear, but being able to seperate gear onto four loops instead of just two makes organizing my rack much easier. All in all best harness for my money hands down.
"Really great but has limitations" 04/14/10
for short sport climbs or indoor climbing i totally think this harness is the best for the money! very light, very comfortable, and really cool! but for longer routes/trad you will probably want to go up to the next version (this harness only has two gear loops)to accommodate for your gear. i got mine in blue and the color is really cool too. on top rope or lead i have had nothing short of an amazing experience with this harness.
"Fantastic Harness without exception" 11/30/09
This harness is super light, but I was skeptical when I ordered it that it would be comfortable and that I might only use it for redpoint attempts where weight is important. After I put it on and took some falls and hung in it a bit, I realized it's actually far more comfortable than all my other harnesses with wider leg loops and more padding. It's a bombproof-constructed work of art that's gonna save your life and then some. What more could you want?
"The lightest harness ever" 10/29/09
This harness is super light. Thier is nothing to it, no excess of any kind. That means not a lot of padding either, so it isn't the most comfortable to hang on all day. However, getting up a climb and back down, it's great for. Has 2 large gear loops.
"If you want light, buy this harness!!!" 05/07/09
I've had this harness for a almost a year now, and after some seriously long hours of hard climbing it still looks like new. Beyond its good looks and weight (I should say, weightlessness), it's proved to be comfortable even after whippin',hanging and belaying all day long. It weighs next to nothing and because of the slimness of the weave, it takes up almost no space at all in my pack. The only negative for me was the snugness of the leg loops (I have 24.5 inch thighs, M waist), but these days it's broken in and feels just fine. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and though it's costly, you'll get what you pay for.
"Carry your chalk bag in your teeth" 03/26/09
This harness is super light. The leg loops were uncomfortable at first but I think they break in after only a few sessions. It also depends on how thick your pants are. There are only two gear loops, one on each side. None in the back and no loop to clip your chalk bag on, so you either have to reach around to chalk up your other hand or use a separate waist belt. Other than that, it fits really well and feels solid, I'm happy with it. It comes in a tin box with the arc'terx logo on it that is pretty snazzy and would look good if you are giving it as a gift.
"Amazing harness" 03/16/09
This thing is great to wear... taking lead falls is a dream (with the addition of a good lead belayer of course!). Yet the only downside is it might seem too comfortable sometime. Me along with others sometimes do not think they are safe but they totally are. great item to get
"pack in pocket protection" 11/17/08
Basically if you want the lightest, slimmest most comfortable rig out of the box then this is it. i love it to death for the gym or short sport lines, but on massive multi pitch routes i would go with something beefier. Living in Maryland it gets wicked hot and this thing breathes like a fish especially the leg loops. My only bummer is that the gear loops dont fully come off completely, but they are reversible.
