"great light weight comfortable harness that also packs smaller than a single climbing shoe"
Such a great harness. Completely comfortable and safe, of course. I climb at least three nights a week in NYC (gym walls) and having it pack so small and be so light weight is exceptionally convenient. I have no doubt the workmanship and quality are such that there is no sacrifice in longevity or safety. Additionally the thought put into design for comfort seems to have really worked. Even big drops are very comfortable. To top it off, I got it on sale here at Moosejaw. I hardly ever see any Arc Teryx stuff on sale much less the climbing gear. For not carrying tons of equipment with you (indoor climbing), this is probably the best harness around.
when I went to climbing or any outdoor things, I really hate carry a lot of heavy equipments, so I rather choose equipment with less function but lightweight. but this harness got both of them and even better: colorful looking -- now let's go climbing with fancy look~
I spent months looking for a comfortable harness, until I found the Arcteryx S220. Not only does it make me feel like the hottest chick in the gym, but it's incredibly comfortable! I only wish that I could adjust the leg straps and perhaps have a little more space in the gear loops for when I second my bf on trad climbs. But, with more gear loops and extra buckles it wouldn't be as light and fold-upable. I love how little space my harness takes up in the pack.I was also impressed by the safety measures that went into its design. If the belay loop or other important points become too worn, orange appears and you know to retire it. Ingenious.
This is destined to be the new classic high end sport climbing harness. It's just so light how could it not be. It's so light infact that it's almost not fair. True the leg loops do like like you've made them from an old lawn chair and they might not be that great for a hanging belay. But this harness isn't made for hanging it's made for climbing! Super comfortable to fall in and a beefier belay loopo than Arcteryx's previous lightes harness the A 300a. Could use a small attachment for a chalk bag, one little loop maybe?
It's super light and I almost can't feel it on... The straps stay put and don't ride up (I'm small with small legs) and it folds down very small. It's amazing how comfortable it is. Yes, there are only 2 gear loops but they're big and hold lots of quickdraws. It's quick to get on and very simple looking, without random straps flailing about. Once you pull the waist tight, you can neatly tuck it away so you have nothing hanging out. Plus at the price it is, you really can't beat it; it's cheaper than many other harnesses that just can't compare.
Great harness and super stylish. It packs down incredibly small but is still totally comfortable. Same quality as other Arcteryx harness' just a little stripped down. Great for the gym or anything outdoor besides trad (only 2 gear loops). Super fun that they decided to get daring with color.
