"My all-time-favorite piece of gear!" 11/22/10
If you want a pack you can stuff with gear, hike 15 mile days comfortably, drop in the dirt at the end of the day, and dunk it in the creek to wash it off (with all your gear inside of course....just cause you can), then you need this pack. You pay for quality and this is what you will get. This is a true dry bag, yet hauls gear like a true expedition pack. If you like exterior pockets, you won't find many here, and that may be a small drawback. But it is a small price to pay to get an awesome pack you will hand down to your kids.
"Bomb proof, comfy, could use it instead of a pack raft (except a pack raft is lighter)" 11/01/10
Hiked just under 3000 miles with the 70 liter version a year ago. My schizzle stayed bone dry through weeks of rain w/o pack cover. You couldn't kill this bag if you wanted to! Though the internal frame back thing did start to separate Arc warrantied it for me.
"awesone product; Team has been using Arcteryx Packs for several years now." 08/04/10
Our Rescue Team speak highly of these awesome packs. Waterproof, durable and holds a weeks worth of gear for the mountain. Lots of outer pockets and secure devices for ice axes and other "stuff".
"Good pack especially for wet weather, Comfortabe, but EXPENSIVE. Only a few things i don't like" 03/31/08
Advantges 1 its huge, I fit all the gear i need for a 2 week trip to Glacier NP and still had room for plenty more mostly for booze. 2 Adjustable, everything on this pack can be adjusted for comfort beyond a normal packs adjustments. The shoulder straps, the hip belt, everything! 3 Waterproof, for anyone who read my review of the Theta jacket, the bottom line remains the same for this pack...if you spend time outdoors in a wet climate, dry durable gear is a must Disadvantages 1 Price, its the most expensive pack I've ever purchased by far 2 dangly parts, as mentioned before the pack is adjustable to the max. unfortunately that means lots of loose straps that can easily get snagged. 3
"Really, Really Large expedition Pack!" 07/31/07
Ended up Purchasing the 65L Maia for my girlfriend. This Pack is absolutely Huge, and too big for 1-2 week 3-season trips. The Maia packs carry really well, so no worries there that I can see. Only buy this pack if you are looking for 2+ week trips, or 1-2 week winter trips. I cant imagine filling or carrying this thing otherwise. You are Marvelous!
