Okay, so sometimes I just buy stuff without really thinking about the size or if I really need it. Great bag, but way too big. I ended up sending it back because this bag was too mas grande for what I would use it for. It is literally a 16 day pack.
Arcteryx is simply the Bees-knees. i use this one for a laptop, DSLR, and other daly totables. Comfortable, easily adjusted, and well padded. Plus its sexy. All the details you come to expect from Arcteryx. However, why make a dry bag closure system if the whole pack isn't waterproof? The fabric sheds water well and the main compartment stays pretty dry, but the other parts invite it right in. Otherwise its a pretty sweet bag and I'm not going to return it. I'll just just rig a small pack cover for it and complain a little.
I was so happy to see the Arctery intro of Mistral shoulder bag. I thought the design concept was awesome, but unfortunately it was not my cup of tea. The roll top is awesome idea, but inperfect - takes two hands and not as quick as zipper opening. Sure the roll top will keep the rain or snow, but then what? PC compartment is not padded at all, instead, the pack itself is padded. Overall I wasn't so happy with it, and I'm going back to a zipper opening bag. Oh, and it's pricy but what do you expect from Arc...
The Mistral replaced my old daily pack and I am totally thrilled that I bought it. First off the RollTop closure system is sick on this bag. Of course its loaded with pockets and has plenty of room to pack stuff away. It's a pretty comfy fit and the top stuff pouch fits a pretty large water bottle. The price is a little on the high side, but you get what you pay for.
