The Arc'Teryx Men's Covert Hoody is a full zipped fleece hoody, and a versatile men’s jacket that offers the sophisticated look of wool yet performs the way Polartec Pile should. This Arc’Teryx outerwear has hand warmer pockets and a scuba hood to make it one of the coolest hooded fleece jackets that Arc’teryx offers. Contrary to popular belief, ninjas not included.
"Will purchase this again....and again..."
Just made my second purchase of a Covert Hoody. First one was black and just wanted a different color. The material and workmanship is top-notch and little details like the pocket zip stiffeners that actually hold their shape after repeated washing. The fabric pills very minimally. It is not a great wind blocker, but it was not designed to be. This is a great mid layer for an Arc'Terex GoreTex shell making for a not-too-bulky and reconfigure-able ensemble. Highly recommend it.
This hoodie is soft, durable, and very, very, very warm. Very warm. The pockets are a bit weird...the sleeve pocket is too small an the regular pockets are very big...no inside hidden pockets, either. The hood is very nice and pretty much shapes to the curve of your forehead- no chance of it blowing up in the wind. The jacket itself isn't exactly wind resistant, but traps body heat very nicely to keep you toasty and warm. Did I mention it i warm? Boyfriend is 5'7 and about 170 and a large is a perfect fit.
Pros: Very warm, light, at 6'5" 215lbs. with long arms the XL is necessary for me, a bit baggy in the core area. The green color is nice as I don't often find myself in areas during hunting season. A light shell if you expect windy areas or biking at 40 F. You may have worked up enough heat/sweat to like the breeze and the wicking capability...I do as a sweaty bastard. Cons: It's spendy, but was on sale to numb the sting. Unsure of the advantage of waterproof zippers as water will get to you and your stuff through the fabric but untested in the rain yet. Also what;s the purpose of the sleeve pocket, It may be more weatherproof, although rather small, can't even hold my phone.
"Expensive, but well worth it... my favorite fleece!"
I was pretty hesitant to drop $200 on a fleece. I'm glad I did! Also, now that I own it, I can see why the price tag is so high. the craftsmanship and quality is exceptional. the fleece is finely knit and woven. the fleece is extremely warm. AND it is by far the softest and most comfortable fleece I have ever owned. if it werent $200 I would buy a few more in a heartbeat. but it is... so I will have to stick with the one I have. Until I wear it out. which, as I said, the craftsmanship is amazing. so I dont really see it wearing out anytime soon. my fall hoodie/jacket of choice. did I mention its also stylish? it is...
I am on quite intimate terms with this jacket. Whether she's cuddling me on some distant hill or comforting me with the flu, she embraces me with a soft, gentle warmness. When I put her on, I truly feel that she cares. The covert is special no matter which style you choose. The hoody just happened to be my cup of tea. Now, If you'll excuse me, I'll get back to spending time with my jacket.
Stylish and warm. So far no complaints, have worn one very similar to this one for a long time and will continue to support Arcteryx. Expensive of course, but for the price you pay you get the comfort of mind knowing that the investment will be long term. Hood is a great asset that makes this above and beyond what similar brands offer. Save for this!
