Ok, here I go again bragging about my Arcteryx collection. I just bought this because I wanted it last year and didn't want to drop a $150 plus dollars and decided to wait to see if this would go on sale and "BAM" it did!, finally. I love Arcteryx fleece because of it's warmth and comfort. I have to admit, the color I bought is called Squid Ink and I look like Grimmace from McDonalds, you know, the big purple shake drinker. That's OK though, I love the color and don't mind drinking shakes either!!! If you can still get you hands on these for their incredible sale price, grab one!!!!
"You'll like the way you look. I guarantee it"
Whats the most important thing about backpacking...looking good. haha. well, that and all the other specs gear should have that this one is a little lacking in. looks great on, and wish they had the green in this one that they have in the girls. laminated sleeve pocket is great and you can stash your phone in it or whatever. not very warm, and the wind can get into it...i highly highly suggest the apache. i have 2 and they are SUPER warm and amazing! but these do look a little cooler. other issue is they aren't super long on the torso if you're really tall and get a slimmer fit. i'm 6'2 and 170 and got the med...little short in the torso, but does reach the top of the belt. looks great tho.
Yes the price is expensive, but it is truly worth it. This has to be the best pullover you can buy right now on the market. It is SUPER warm, excellent for cold winters, the best layering piece. With this, you don't even need to wear a super thick jacket in cold weather, this does the job pretty well. The sizing of it is also nice as it has more room than a typical arc'teryx piece would. if you're looking for the warmest fleece pullover on the market, look no further, you've found it right here.
I've been looking for a collar zip for months now. I tried the Patagonia Better Sweater first, but the fit of Patagonia is not for me; too tight in the chest. The Covert Collar Zip is stylish, warm, and fits comfortably w/o being baggy. My only gripe is that I'm not keen on most of the colors offered (I bought black) otherwise I'd buy 2 more. Love this top.
After reading some of the reviews on this fleece I agree, it is a great looking and very warm sweater, Just went to Leafs game in Toronto and wore it there it kept me totally warm, not wind resistant though ,you will need a soft shell over for the whipping wind.I will get another .
"This is a part of my winter season uniform!"
I wear my Arcteryx's pull-over so regularly, it is a part of my winter season uniform! Over a t-shirt or over a collared shirt for work, it just seems to go with everything. Some colors seem to pill up more than other over time, but I REALLY like this product.
"Girls at the office want to borrow it all the time."
This Arcteryx Covert fleece is a super cozy, warm fleece that will get you touched whether you want it or not. It definitely has that "I want to stroke it" type of appeal from the outside and it feels even better on the inside while you're wearing it. The only negative is that the cut leaves a bit too much material around the midsection if you are thin.Bottom line: All around great everyday fleece despite the slightly boxy cut.
"Warm, Rugged and Cooler than Frozen Nails"
The Covert is an awesome addition for the fall and winter. Very warm and slick lookin', it's equally at home catching a show or roughing it in the woods. It's a solid mid layer, but the collar can get annoying, and it's the kind of thing you wear when you're expecting to be cold. ...or if you enjoy stripping layers off once you get indoors.Short story, a classy sweater that'll keep you warm and cool at the same time.Cheers, and happy adventures!
I bought the Covert Cardigan last year. So, this year (and early in the season) I bought the Covert Collar Zip. I've found that both are comfortable enough to wear indoors, at least during moderate temps, i.e. not in front of a roaring fire, and warm enough to wear out doors. They provide no wind blocking protection, however. Very stylish. Classy enough to wear to work on casual days and tough enough for a mid-layer. They sell very fast so order soon!
