The Men's Covert Cardigan by Arcteryx is constructed with Polartec Thermal Pro, which provides excellent warmth and moisture management. This award-winning fleece jacket lives up to its name with its functional design, bringing comfort and performance whether it's during a tough climb or a cold damp day in the city. This high-end fleece is super-stylish and will easily become one of your favorites when the fast-dry-when-wet capabilities come in to play. Laminated zippers on the sleeve and two hand pockets help keep your hands warm and your pockets dry, and the gusseted underarms add strength to this garment and allow for a better range of motion. This garment may have been tested with a walk in the freezer while doing the YMCA, but it's questionable.

FEATURES of the Arcteryx Men's Covert Cardigan

Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.

Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.

Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.

Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice warm insulating layer! I purchased this as an insulating layer for cross country skiing and have found it to be a warm and quickly drying layer. It is made with the outstanding attention to detail that Arc'teryx is well known for and is true to size (for me). I have also worn it as a jacket on cool mornings and evenings and now find myself grabbing it more and more to use as a jacket. Although it is made in China it is as well made as any of the Canadian Arc'teryx products I have owned. In my opinion this is due to Arc'teryx's outstanding quality control. If you need a good insulating layer for cold temperatures or a nice jacket for cool to cold weather I would recommend this cardigan.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s roomy, dad will love it! It depends on what you plan on wearing underneath. My friend love these she has 3, and wares them almost every day regardless of the weather and temp. I think the woman’s fits real nice, very ergonomic! And they offer nice colors. BUT for me Covert Cardigan was a replacement for the kick but original Arc’teryx Delta Jacket, which had super stretch Polartech 200-weight fleece. This Polartech Sweater Nit, literally it is just like a sweater but in Polartech not wool. It was comfy and warm, but I found it to floppy and generous around the stomach, great for dad and guys with potbellies. I have gotten so use to Arc’teryx ergonomics of the Assent line which offers great mobility but is still an athletic cut and does not have extra fabric to get c

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good warmth to rate ratio This sweater is very light and quite warm. I'd say it is a little warmer than my Delta AR. I bought it on sale (25% off) and don't regret it. I love arcteryx, but I might have a hard time paying full price for this one. It's not wind resistant, but it doesn't claim to be. This jacket is definitely soft and comfy. I really like the tungsten color. I'm 5' 10" 155 lbs and I bought a small. I wish it were about an inch longer, but I probably have a slightly longer torso than average for my height. Other than that, it fits perfectly, and I think a medium would be way too big.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little short but overall a quality piece! Arcteryx has done it again and has produced another winner. This fleece is top quality as all Arcteryx jackets seems to be. Very warm...yet breathable...just like they advertise. The polartec they use for this top is top notch in my book. So soft yet durable. My only complaint...and it is a relatively minor one is the length. It's just a tad short for my taste. The apache series makes up for this one flaw, if you will. So Arcteryx has their bases covered and offers us both. Kudos to them! Another fantastic product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Comfortable Just received this jacket Friday afternoon and have had a chance to wear all weekend. The fit is exceptional. I wanted a jacket that I could wear over a thin shirt and still have freedom of movement. I wanted warmth without too much bulk. This jacket fits as though it is tailored. (6 ft. 200 lbs. XL) There is little to no wind resistance as you should expect from a fleece jacket, but I do not intend to use this for technical situations, more of a around town jacket and office, and travel. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it more with every POW day! We hike for a lot of lines at Mt. Baker. This is the perfect insulator for the backcountry. I wear a RHO LT next to skin, my transciever, my cardiagan, and then a shell. The cardigan gives easy access to your transciever as well as having huge pockets that work great for keeping an extra pair of gloves toasty and on stand-by. I stay just the right temp. with this set up.<BR> Also great as a casual peice. Top quality fabrics, stiching and zippers. Has a trim cut that reduces bulk. A must have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The hills are alive Got this and immediately felt like that duke in the Sound of Music. Wanted to sing Austrian folk tunes while climbing the alps. Weird how it is so fashionable and yet functional, a rare synthesis with all the boring technical stuff out there in outlandish or super dull mud colors. Sleeves are long in a good way, and the XL gave me layering options, I like to go big.. You never know when you have to get layered. Goodbye Dale ski sweater, hello "covert" sweater.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sexy, but not sexiest. i ordered this cardigan thinking that it would fall into the sweater category so i could wear it as 'relaxed professional' at my temporary suit and tie job. i can wear it there, but it isn't really what i was hoping for. the zipper up the front makes it cardigan-like, but the zippered pockets make it uncardigan-like, more light jacketish. i still wear it and i think girls still think i'm hot in it, but the covert collar zip would be hotter.
