This is absolutely the best pullover shell I have ever seen or worn. I could not be happier with it. Extremely effective at repelling wind and water. The water proof zippers are great. The zippers in each arm pit are very useful (one of them competely unzips to the bottom). The length is perfect and it looks really cool. There are several ways to tighten the hood which is helpful if you are not wearing a helmet. Love it!

Awesome purchase from Moosejaw, delivered on time, to the hour!!! Quite literally. I was also impressed with the garment's wrapping. Rather cool with a real character. The product itself is top notch, and I look forward to using it ASAP.
I bought this thing cause I needed a lightweight and waterproof jacket for a summer in a particularly rainy part of the States. It's gortex. I've been caught in torrential downpours in this thing and it stood up to it. As for sizing, I'm just under 5'8" and about 160lbs, short and a little stocky. I bought a medium and it was just slightly too big so I shipped it back for a small. Note, the material stretches just slightly after you wear it a few times. Other notes, the hood leaves plenty of room for helmets, so if any responsible boarders or skiers out there are looking for a lightweight jacket to keep snow out on those balmier days on the slopes, this jacket won't restrict you there.
Typical Arc'teryx quality and amazing design - I've use this in major late summer & fall storms in the high Rockies and its about as bullet-proof as you get in lightweight gear.

Ok First off all i have to say is Arcteryx has done it yet once again! I love this this jacket I keep it with me all this time wither backpacking for a week or 2 or just going to work, its so light and great for a surprise rain shower. BUT! on top of all of that I used this last season for winter camping with a base layer and the Arcteryx Hyllus Jacket and it was the perfect combination for -20 to -35 at night.
I was trying hard to decide between this and the alpha LT. I loved that the SL pullover is incredibly light and packable yet feels like it's made out of a bombproof material. The only downside for me was the paclite vs proshell, the paclite seems less breathable and has a bit of a plastic-y feel to it on the inside vs the nice soft fabric feel of the proshell in the LT. I ended up going with the LT for the breathability, but it was a really close call. If it wasn't mainly going to be a winter shell for me, I'd have taken the SL based on price and to shave off another 2oz. I wish they made an Alpha LT in the pullover format.
When you're looking to do some tough climbing in soggy conditions, it's time to beef up your protection from the elements with the Alpha SL Pullover from ARCTERYX.
My first Arc'teryx jacket and so far I'm liking it. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs and the Large fits well, ample room for me to sport the Montane 2.0 Prism beneath for warmth, however note that the waist/hem is very slightly tapered. Have only experienced moderately wet adventures thus far but it's definitely waterproof and breathability is good. Sharp looking jacket that I'm using multi-purpose. One of the side zips goes all the way down to the hem for extra easy on & off and over-all I'm finding this a good, useful item.
This jacket has yet to fail me anytime in the rain. The paclite goretex is great, doesn't get saturated and dries off as quickly as the water drips off. Arcteryx makes high quality products and this is no exception. Love it and definitely recommend throwing down the extra cash to ensure staying dry.
This jacket can do anything. It works fantastically in cold or hot weather. It is completely waterproof and packs down well into its own pocket. I love the front pouch--it is roomy and allows you to access the pocket very well. The pull-over style takes some getting used to. I use this jacket for the day-to-day and pull out my Arc'teryx Alpha SV when really needed. This jacket is very durable and is a workhorse. I love it! If I could only own one hardshell, this would be it!
