The incredible water-beading fabric rebuffs moisture and blocks wind, and the articulated pattering allows total freedom of movement on serious descents.

"The perfect ski jacket" 04/18/12

This is quite simply the best shell out there. Lightweight but bombproof. I've worn it in some fairly ugly conditions, and it's every bit as waterproof and windproof as the other reviewers say. Looks awesome too! The side zipper is a great feature - comfortable and very distinctive. Sizing is already generous to accomodate pretty much any combination of layers underneath, so don't be tempted to size up. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and the Small fits me nicely. Sure, this is an expensive jacket, but you're paying for Arc'teryx's trademark quality and attention to detail. It's absolutely worth the money!

"Light, highly breathable, and awesome looking!" 08/14/11

Used this last ski season with just a base layer and it kept me warm and happy even on Grand Windy (Targhee)! The side radio pocket with touch screen cover is a nice touch! Worked well with my iPhone and bluetooth headphones.

"This is a great jacket" 04/13/11

I have used this in -15 degree days in alaska when backpacking, this thing is bombproof, and it sheds water very easily.

"Arcteryx is in a League of its own" 02/02/11

Ive been downhill skiing for about 16 years now and out of all the shells I have run through, this one stands alone. Ultra light weight, state of the art gore-tex, breathable material, holds up like Kevlar yet isn't cumbersome. The build in recco allows for a little peace of mind. From H20 Heli trips in Valdez to hikes in Teton Pass this jacket has not failed. Stop debating and purchase the best shell you'll ever lay your hands on

"The best" 10/28/10

I snowboard, and this jacket makes the weather a non issue. Tremendous outside temp comfort range. Goretex pro shell rocks. Wish I had gotten the blue, but the online pics scared me and didn't realize how nice it looked till I saw the blue in person.

"Great jacket, exceeds expectations. Select a smaller size." 03/12/10

I had this jacket for few days now and it is exceeding my expectations. It is totally windproof and waterproof. The material is sturdy, yet flexible. It is incredibly light, even for a shell. Overall, it gives an impression of a first class product, which it is. As you are probably aware, the jacket is a relax fit, so you should go with the smaller side. I myself was falling in between two sizes, and at the end decided to go with a smaller size - and was right.

"Hardcore jacket that fits great." 02/14/09

This is a capital A, Awesome, jacket. I love the articulated sleeves and the fact that they provide a free range of movement. I was a bit skeptical that the jacket wouldn't fit very well as I'm rather tall and thin (6'2"/160), but it fits great! The one thing that I wish Arc'Teryx would fix is the velcro at the cuffs. The way it's designed now, the hook portion tends to tear up the sleeve material over time. Other than that, I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone dead set on having the best of the best when it comes to equipment, because this is a quality jacket that is stood behind by the company that makes it.

"Amazing amazing amazing" 11/11/08

This jacket has everything you need for all winter/fall sports! The shell felt a little thin at first but when you go outside it was actually quite warm. EXTREMELY wind and waterproof! I was amazed! I've had this jacket now for a few weeks and have had no problems since. The side zipper is a good idea and the large hood is big enough to fit my helmet when I'm snowboarding. The only thing I would change is to add a fleece lining in the hand pockets, but no big deal!

"Perfection" 06/25/08

I would like to start by apologizing that I cannot name any fantasticly awesome places that I have travelled to in my jacket like the rest of the reviewers who like to show off do. That aside, even though it is summer I have found use for this jacket and have loved it. I stayed dry on a rainy camping weekend recently, and during the sunny days that I wore it just because I felt like I needed to use it as much as possible. One of my favorite things to do is to just stick my arm under a running faucet and watch the water fall off of it. The new Gore-Tex Pro Shell is phenomenal. All the features that you hear are about are worthwhile and obviouslty well constructed the big hood, the powder

"This is the best jacket EVER!!!!!!! LOVE the madness" 05/18/08

I Love this jacket. It works great for snowboarding or just in really cold weather. In Alaska a few years back I took one and wore a few layers under and never felt cold or damp. Even on a snowmobile it worked great to keep the wind out. Great jacket and well worth the money spent

"Go get it!" 04/25/08

Perfect shell jacket allowing for both warm easter skiing without overheating me, and those sub zero days with some more layers underneith. Good fit, true to size. So comfortable with the zipper on the side so it doesn't give my throat a hard time. The hood doesn't flap around even at high speed.
