I first purchased the XL size, but being 5'9" 215lbs, I found the pant legs to be too long, and I was practically swimming in the pants. So I returned them and got the L. which fit much better.First thing I did was go to the mountains (after a several hour drive), and try the pants out. They were great on the slopes, could have used a shoelace clip but what ever. Perfect on a spring day as is. Didnt require anything beneath. The side vents did allow in some snow when I took a spill, but kept me cool.I only have one day on the slopes with them but at this point well worth the price. Looking forward to using them in the harsh conditions next season.
"Amazing thin, lightweight pants that perform like Armor!"

These pants are incredible. I used them at Whistler/Blackcomb for snowboarding with 0-10deg F weather and 20-30 mph winds with ongoing snow/rain. I only wore a set of Under Armor tights underneath. I was COMPLETELY dry and more than warm enough. The vents are huge on the side and could probably see your butt if you unzip all the way, but you don't have to unzip that high. They are unstoppable pants that are light and perform like champs - I have HH pants with more insulation and even more in the butt and knees, but they get wet (rated 20,000 mm waterproof). Fit wide and large, err on the smaller end. I have a small that is still large on me (5'8, 155pds, 31.5" waist).

These pants are great! I love arcteryx products for there quality and these are there as well! Ordered them for back country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing and camping in RMNP! They fit great and sizing chart was a perfect match. love that they a a bigger fit to allow for lots of layering however ill have to get the stingray pants for ice climbing and rock climbing for the bigger fit of these for layering will be to bulky to wear in these activities. Love the fit, nice deep pockets and a extra shallow pocket is great for small items. Like the engagement ring that I have to my girlfriend on out back country trip in RMNP a week ago!
