ARC'TERYX MEASUREMENT and FIT GUIDE

HOW to MEASURE:

Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.

Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.

Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent postion, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.

Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

FIT TYPE INFO and DETAILS:

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could Have Been Made Better Arcteryx Men's Rampart Pants -- I own several Arcteryx products over the years, they have always been well worth the premium costs. With that being said, Rampart Pants are a sub par effort by Arcteryx. The material is rough and noisy! Size 38 is really a size 40. So I am forced to pay for returning them. ,,,,And what's with the pockets?? Pockets on hiking/climbing pants should be able to carry more then just a bandana (too shallow). The material specs read cotton - nylon blend -- yeah! the pants are cotton and the nylon is the zippered pocket only. ,,,,So if you have been dying to try an Arcteryx product, try another product. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well engineered.. pants I got these a while ago and they are my favorite lightweight backpacking pants. Pretty much every part of these things is well thought out. I hate pants that have that zip off into shorts feature. It just bothers me. These things are so light, so airy, dry fast, and keep water off great. They even do well in wind.,,,,But the best two things to me are the snaps and the pockets. The snaps hold really well and are rather durable. I wish more pants used snaps like these. Genius. The pockets are really well thought out. Stuff goes in and doesn't fall out because of the overlap. No zippers. No buttons. Just really good engineering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great urban jeans for cyclists Where I live rain can happen during any month, and I mostly cycle everywhere; Certainly if I can help it, (although trams and trains are options). I bought these jeans after getting fed up with frequent summer rain on cotton jeans, and then subsequently being wet in the office trying to work, etc. Even during winter when the freezing rain actually stings --its so cold (and the trousers are thin) dry relief is only 10 minutes away once I'm inside. Also, my biker thighs won't fit comfortably in most jeans, but no problem with all the Arteryx I've bought. And finally, I love the front pockets for comfortably carrying my wallet and keys, which seem fairly secure against pickpockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rad do-evertyhing pants, no pocket zippers. I've used these on several trips in the Sierras this summer plus living in them, and been really impressed with these pants. Seeing as how it doesn't rain very much in the Sierras in august, I can't totally vouch for their storm-worthiness. However, as a city slicker/commuter biking/bouldering/backpacking/3rd class scrambling pant, they kick ass. Very durable, breathability is great, AND they cut the wind. BIG CAVEAT - there are NO ZIPPERS on these pockets. The flaps work pretty well, but I would be cautious about what you drop in these cargo pockets before high-steppin' in the alpine zone. Oh, and big shoutout to Moosejaw. I bought these pants with my Moosejaw Rewards points. Rock on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ab Fab (esp. if you lack the $$ for ArcT Palisade Pants) When you need to keep your legs covered, to protect from the sun or gnarly underbrush, or just because your going to confront varied weather, Ramparts really fit the bill. They’re feather weight, astonishingly stretchy/breathable while remaining super wind/water resistant... another of ArcT's miracle fabrics in action. In addition to the fabric stretch, the cut, esp. the articulated knees, make these things super comfy in any conditions and at any activity level. I prefer the ArcT Palisade pants to these (zippered pockets, low-profile built-in belt, ever-so-slightly more amazing fabric, prepped for ankle draw-cords (to keep mud/brambles/snow out) those bad boys cost 50% more than these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If I had to pick just one pair.... these would be it. Actually, I have 5 pair already. I just came to the web site to buy another pair in black for the office. I rock the coffee and carbide colored pants with decorative Italian shirts and a pair of loafers, no socks. Perfect!! I lived in 2 pair of coffee and 2 pair of tan in Southern Afghanistan for 7 months. The tan shrank up just a hair. It took three washes to get the embedded sand out of the legs of the coffee colored ones and they still look like new. Just turn them inside out when you throw them in the laundry. Also, the lightweight of these pants were a game changer in the desert heat. Enclosed hip and leg pockets without snaps, buttons, velcro, or zippers is genius.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best summer hiking pants I'VE BOUGHT SEVERAL PAIRS OF THESE. I use them for everything, from skateboarding, working out in the gym, hiking, climbing.. if I could only pick one pair of pants to wear for the rest of my life, these are it. If it's extremely cold I'll wear a base layer underneath. These pants are unreal, they dry quick, they are weightless (feels like I'm not wearing anything if I decide to forego the undies). I hope they never stop making these pants.. but I'm also sure the pairs I have will outlast me as long as I take decent care of them.. great pants, great fit. Arcteryx is the best
